Comments from the Other Side - Cavs 11/14/14

In spite of the loss,  I liked a lot of what I saw from the Celtics.  They still tend to go away from what is working at times in the game and slow it down and stop going inside.  But they are a young team and I know they will improve.  The Cavs on the other hand are not a young team.  I find it amusing how Cavs fans really aren't all that happy with their team.  I love that they covet Rondo and Bradley for their team.  This Celtics team is a lot of fun to watch.    I thought that the Cavs got some help from the refs down the stretch.  There were some really bad calls toward the end of the game.  That aside, it was a tough loss for the Green.   My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?

Will be interesting to see how our backcourt performs against a strong defensive duo in Rondo and Bradley.

We have the overwhelming talent advantage in this game, so let's get that third road win.

Rondo has been one of my favorite players for awhile now. I'm anxious to see the Irving v. Rondo tonight to see how Irving responds.

Tyler Zeller will drop 30.

Rondo is averaging 11 assists per game. He's had two games with at least 15 assists. Considering his recent injuries, that's pretty impressive

Kyrie burned Rondo and Bradley pretty bad last time they played if memory serves. Hope we'll see a repeat tonight.

I absolutely hate this arena. Everything about it gives me the creeps.

It’s too Irish for a basketball arena. And that’s the Irishman in me speaking.

The rumors are true. Kevin Love does not even attempt to play defense. Why not close out on the wide open shooter there? 

Every game I am amazed at how bad our D is. I should stop being surprised when everyone is wide open.  Luckily they aren't shooting all that well

Celtics announcers sound like they're ready to go back to the nursing home so they can take their medicine and pet their cats

We are defensively inept. We won't win shit continuing on like this.

God we have a shitty team. No defense. And Thompson is a Ben Wallace on offense but not on defense.

Heinsohn update: He has been tolerable so far.

We won’t lose this. Boston can’t shoot, thank God.

Thompson has to block that unathletic drive to the rim by Olynyk.

The thing I hate most about this arena is that it’s just a collection of noise that happens to get louder or quieter depending on what’s going on. There’s no direction.

You mean… like a sports arena?

No, it sounds fake. Like they pump the noise in.

I could see them funneling in noise from the street across from the Garden. Like when politicians Photoshop more folks into their events haha

Ugh. Our D makes every team look like they’ve been to the Finals together.

TYLER ZELLER WILL MAKE US PAY

Can we finally agree that we at least need a rim-protector? So what if we can win without one. We still don’t have one.

That isn’t a magic fix though. But yeah, every team needs one.

Heinsohn update: quibbling over Love initiating contact with Zeller, even though Zeller was squarely in the restricted zone.

Avery Bradley better not have a mid-range Ryan Anderson game. I’ll go crazy.

Love and Lebron needs to start showing some effort on D. They're god awful. Lebron's man is usually the one who is wide open.

I almost feel bad for Zeller

Zeller fits on this team perfectly.

I wish we had Rondo. Very smart and plays hard.

He's the best at distributing the ball and there isn't anyone that comes close save maybe Chris Paul. His awful offense is what kills him.

Bradley is hitting some tough shots...

I'd love to have Avery Bradley on the Cavs. Talk about great fit. I know it's not happening, but he's someone that would fit in really nice with this team.

Rondo's passing IQ is one of the best I've ever seen. This guy...

A team that is this horrible at defense will NEVER win a ring. This roster, as constructed, is not a title contender

This is sad. I think you have to try real hard to have this much talent and look this bad.

This team's entire dynamic would change with Rondo on this roster. It's not even up for discussion as far as I'm concerned. Are you watching this guy right now? He makes amazing plays even when his teammates F*** them up. He's literally passing the ball cross court at the drop of a dime no matter how he is defended. It's nothing short of amazing. It's too bad he never got it together offensively because he would be up for best point guard to ever the play game by a LONG shot.

Tell me again why were so excited for this team?

Tristan is completely hopeless on offense. He should never shoot the ball, ever

I hate the way Blatt uses his bench. Mike Brown used his bench better, and that's sad.

If Rondo dishes at the end, no way they don't make the game winner. Surprised he suddenly decided it was a good idea to shoot a jumper when he has been killing us with the pass all game.

If the cavs couldn't handle olynyk, sullinger and bass, look out for when they have to face milsap and horford. Will have a lot of alcohol in hand for that game
