Comments from the Other Side - Sixers 10/6/17

The Celtics are still getting to know each other but they are fun to watch.   They will need time to gel but when they do, look out.  I'm liking Baynes a lot.,  We haven't had an enforcer like him since Perk.   And we have two more in Theis and Morris.  Fun!!!  Poor Sixers fans are struggling to embrace their top picks.  Fultz is hiding and out of shape.   And Simmons goes from MVP to a 6'10" Rondo.  And as much as they are trying to hate Tatum they have to admit he looks good.  Enjoy this preseason version of Comments from the Other Side.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?

He better. I don't care if he has another bad game but not playing is weak. Shoulder soreness my ass. Probably got like 400 shots up after that game and hurt himself.

I look for this team to play a spirited game vs. Our arch rivals and give a good account of themselves (unless we are tanking, lol).

How can Fultz not play. He's not hurt. The coaches are hiding him. He needs to stop hiding and show people what he's made of after having a horrible game.

Maybe it's not him hiding. Maybe he's really hurt or maybe Colangelo doesn't want to take a chance on a bad performance against Boston (Danny Ainge) on national TV.

I think Tatum isn't a starter from day 1... So I think Ainge was putting Tatum, and Brown on the starting lineup to try and show up Philly.

He already showed up Philly, the day he completed that trade.

Simmons needs to put in work tonight. I want him to break the Celtics' souls.

I don't think Ainge is capable of trolling us with his draft selections. I wouldn't have even considered either Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum with a Top 3 pick in the last two drafts.

Starting two players who you paid top dollar to who wouldn't even start for the Sixers is not trolling the Sixers, it's trolling your own fan base. Honestly, I don't think you could give that bum Horford away with that contract. The guy sucks.

Tatum not being good is going to be my favorite NBA happening of the season.

You know what a lot of the good Celtic players are gone........like I. Thomas, Crowder, Bradley and Olynyk. IDK may have messed up their Chemistry?

I think itl take some time for them to mesh, they'll be good, but I still question their size/rebounding/ability to protect the rim.

I suspect they’re going to start slow and improve a lot by the end of the year.

Danny rolled the dice... Yep…….they trust Ainge knows what he’s doing, but man that is a lot of wholesale changes plus the had the the BEST record in the east last year so it’s risky. Your right they still don’t have a quality bigman like Joel. Time will tell.

So far, it is obvious ow much better the first unit looks with Amir Johnson on the floor. Rebounding, shots, passing. It is all there. Not flashy but substantial

Jaylen Brown is a smart, admirable kid that is really big and athletic. I just don't think he's a good basketball player.

This is the first NBA caliber backcourt the Sixers have fielded in 5 years.

I don’t think the refs are out to get us. I’d think Silver wants the Philly market to launch if anything, it’s a top 10 media market that hasn’t been part of revenue sharing for years. It’s one of their better opportunities to get some extra revenue. I think we’re just a team full of young guys who are playing fast and dumb cuz that is what young guys do.

Horford actually has a decent set of wheels. He’s quite mobile. I think his contract is bad, but Al Horford is a really good player.

That's a Celtic trait. They play every game like its game 7 of the finals all season long. Its why they can win the east but lose in 5 to the cavs.

It's a shame the refs need to allow Smart to grab, pull and foul players, because that's all his game is. Dude literally does nothing else on the court.

The only issue with players like him is that it's really hard to quantify their worth when it comes to their first contract after their rookie pay scale is up.
Amir should get the starting job when Embiid rests. He is easily our 2nd best big.

Celtics basically started their best 5 tonight. We should be happy with how we hung with them, but its Philly, of course that can't happen. We would rather boo Humpheries for some reason and tell the rest of our guys how much they suck.

We shot an ungodly percentage from 3 and the Celts are pretty much a brand new roster. I wouldn't read too much into it.
