Comments from the Other Side - Utah SL Game 1 - Sixers 7/3/17

First Summer League CFTOS.   Loved what we saw from Brown and Tatum.  These two are going to be very, very good.  Love the bond between them.   This is the beginning of what will certainly be a rivalry for years to come between the Celtics and Sixers and between Fultz and Tatum.  Now to go back to obsessing over Hayward's decision which was and then wasn't made.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?

Summer league is so awful. Not sure how anyone can take anything meaningful out of it. Only thing I personally look for in Summer league is how well bigs move. That's literally it.

Best believe Boston is going to sick Kadeem Allen on Fultz all game. Markelle better bring a fiery demeanor and make a statement by lighting up the scoreboard.

I hope Jonah Bolden throws down some thunderous dunks on Zizic

Is Zizic really that good? I've watched clips of him and was not that impressed. But the Boston forum seems to think he's their future at Center.

Unfortunately, I think he's going to be really good. He can score, rebound and protect the rim. And he established all those things at age 19. I think he's highly probable to be an impact starter at the C position.

Like I don't know how Dragan Bender goes in the Top 5 and Zizic slips to the 20s.

Whatever happened to Yabusele (sp) is he coming over (ever?)

I know he had to have surgery to remove bone spurs earlier this summer. Which means he's probably like 320 pounds by now.

Part of me wants to see Fultz blow up against Boston just to see what they say about it at the Celtics board.

Ive learned a long time ago.....Summer League means ZILCH. Don't get too high or too low based on whatever happens.

I remember Evan Turner looking lost in Summer League and he was lost when he got to the NBA.

On the other hand Anthony Randolph dominated the Summer League and was the biggest scrub when real games were played.

I'd like to think that if you're good at SL, it doesn't matter. If you're bad, then u maybe really bad. Haha

Well I hope Fultz puts 50 on them......just so I could laugh.

Unless Jaylen Brown goes beast mode on Fultz, Fultz will be matched up with smaller defenders like Jackson, Allen and Smith. In the end, I guess Fultz performance will depend on his perimeter shooting

I honestly would prefer Fultz just watches in street clothes. Last thing I can stomach is somebody getting hurt in a meaningless SL game.

I remember the Sixers signing Shavlik Randolph as an UDFA and in summer league he looked like Olajuwon.

I would hope that Luwawu would be capable of guarding Jayson Tatum.

Jaylen Brown still can't do anything but dribble in a straight line. No change of direction.

He is not, just Zizic is damn good player. He is making him worse than he is .

I think I read he forced his way on to the team. Celtic brass didn't want him playing originally.

Jaylen Brown is once again a Summer League All-Star

Jaylen Brown looking MUCH better so far than either Jimmy Butler or Paul George. Danny Ainge – who btw is a better athlete than Bo Jackson – has clearly pulled off another masterpiece.

One thing Fultz needs to work on is his 3 point range

Celtics gonna regret this trade

They should already just by seeing his skillset. However, Tatum won’t be a bum. He’ll be good but Fultz is light years better already and it’s only going to widen

Jalen looks solid. Grant it it’s against rookie players but he looked pretty good during the playoffs when he got minutes. He’s gaining weight which is contributing to his physicality… will definitely be a major contributor on the defensive end.

Fultz’s defense has exceeded all of my expectations.

This is the D he played at the U-18 America games last summer. It was kind of weird how uninterested he was on defense at Washington.

Funny seeing a guy with playoff experience out there banging for 35 minutes in summer league.

And ball hogging it to the tune of 0 assists and 7 turnovers.

Summer league is like the NBA finals now.

Nah, Summer League isn’t the NBA Finals. The Celtics actually play in Summer League.

That last shot was sloppy as hell. His footwork was terrible. He did well to settle his body to shoot it, but that shot doesn’t go down most nights.

Tatum definitely had a nice game and a strong 4th Q. Congratulations on your great summer league night.

Tatum played 33 minutes; Fultz 22 minutes. I don’t really want to see TLC out there that long again. He still has a poor dribble. I don’t know why they’re using him to create offensively. That’s not his game.

Its summer league. You are supposed to take players out of their comfort zone. Not really try to win the game.

The Celtics seem to disagree. These games are clearly meant for winning and showcasing, not for player and roster development.

Fultz and Tatum both look to be legit. Don’t think either will come anywhere near "bust" territory.

Tatum is really good. Fultz is really good. Both sides can be happy about this game. Brown looked solid as hell. He’s improving like crazy.

Boston fans are going to be obnoxious about this but they should be happy about Brown and Tatum.

Tatum was about what I expected. Good athlete, polished scoring game, if he can hit corner 3s with any type of consistency he’ll be Next Gen Millsap.  Not quite sure about his D. He’ll be a solid player but he’s probably a complimentary piece. Fultz is probably the higher upside player.

Hey, Fultz looked good, but ummmm, Tatum and Brown both dominated the game.

Liked what I saw from Fultz. He has NBA caliber size & athleticism. Skillset wise, he has shown signs to be special on both ends. What is lacking was his motor/aggressiveness.

Fultz looked decent, but the team needs to find a way to increase his motor and aggression. He's just way too passive out there...   That said, I worry that Tatum may end up being the best player from this draft.

That's my biggest worry after watching this game also. But with that being said, it is only 1 game. Tatum is going to be very good though. No denying that.

I really hope we won't be regret on giving up a high lottery pick to switch Tatum/Jackson to Fultz.
I mean I know Fultz would be a great player and he seems like the best fit for us but now I'm not quite sure how much better (or if) he would be compare to who we could get at #3 when all is said and done.  It usually worth but this year may be the wrong one to pay deep price to move up from 3 to 1.

One summer league game and people already talking about the trade. It's actual insanity.

Fultz dominated, was close to as perfect as one could ask from a summer league debut in limited minutes, but cynical Philly gonna cynical Philly.
