Comments from the Other Side - Pistons 2/26/17

Great for the Celtics to get back in the win column and pick up a game on the Wizards.  After reading all the comments about Andre Drummond,  I'm pretty happy Danny didn't sell the farm to trade for him.   It's getting funny how most fans really hate Marcus.  He does all the little things that get under opponents' skins.   For all their complaints about the refs, they did take more free throws than the Celtics.  At one point it was 33-19 in their favor before the intentional fouls to end the game.  They let them play and let a lot of contact go both ways.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?

I watched the end of Raptors-Celtics. Celts had it, but Raptors prevailed in the end. They're beatable. It's just not a good time for us.

I feel like we match up pretty good against them. I almost want to say it seems like we have more talent then them.

I watched a little of the C's v T-Dot last night. Old frere Jonas Jerebko was playing. The ball went out of bounds and JJ kicked it over to the ref soccer style. I was immediately impressed with the grace and power of his hips and shook my head knowingly thinking of him acing the wall test during his draft interview. And then I had a thought, didn't Stan Jerebko have a beef with the Pistons and put some sort of hex/curse on them?

His dad had a beef with Larry Frank. He wanted Larry fired for playing Chaz and Daye over JJ. I don't remember the curse part but it sounds plausible.

I've mentioned this about the Rockets before and how outside of Harden the rest of their team are scrubs who work hard and know their role. The Celtics have a similar kind of continuity to the Rockets, with Thomas serving the Harden role. Bradley, Crowder, Horford are solid, they play good D, and know their role. They play hard and get out of Isaiah's way when he's doing his thing. The Pistons can't even spell continuity.

Except, Horford is hardly a scrub, he's being paid close to 30 mil a season.

Horford is a pro though. A grown up. I still get the impression that Dre and RJ stay up late the night before games playing XBOX.

Andre gets a 20 20 game and shows the Celtics why they should of traded for him : )

Last year when we retired Ben's jersey we went out and crushed the Warriors. Let's hope they have that same motivation and can put on a show for Rip!

Boston has more quality draft picks than any team I can remember. Well run organization.

The goal is to win Championships...not to stockpile picks....Right now Ainge has the same number of Championships that Dumars has....so to make a long story short...so what....

Looking at Detroit's roster and Boston's roster makes me shake my head. Im not saying Detroit has more talent than Boston but we should be better than we are. But I guess thats the difference between a team and a bunch of players.

Refs were like the 8th most important reason why the pistons lost tonight

We took five more FTs than they did And we made 8 fewer. Yeah, there were some calls on Detroit and non-calls on Boston that I disagreed with, but that type of discrepancy is unforgivable. Or at least digs a hole it’s really hard to get out of.

Yeah , screw those Celtics and their good looking fans and Nets picks. So what if the they went to the line a lot less and had more fouls called on them, teams only loose because of the refs.

Boston players were getting foul calls for falling down with no initiated contact by any of our players

At least we played to the end point by point, with one of the best teams in the league.

Much credit to Ish Smith defense on Thomas!! He played really good D as well as KCP Thomas is an amzaing player. I didn’t realize he had 30 points in the game with such good defense on him

Amir Johnson is many many more years older, and he’s still getting himself in danger of fouling out in major minutes. That’s what I suspected would be the case with him years ago. I wish he would have figured things out himself … he had the athleticism that would have fit nicely on this team as a starter, but I don’t think that’s ever going to work out entirely for him.

Stevens teams are solid teams for execution, strategy, and adjustment.

if you weren’t born when the Pistons were doin’ it in the 1980s … games like tonight were pretty much every game with Boston. It doesn’t really approach the heat and disgust with each other in rivalry that happened between Boston and Detroit back in that day … but if you’re feeling the sting of this one, then yeah. Boston stung a lot of people that way back in the day.

Dre's 1-11 from the line is worse than an Achilles Heel. It's more like an Achilles Torso. It’s hard to avoid being trite, but they lost this game at the line. Less than 50% from the line for a professional basketball team?

Brad Stevens must be a great coach. I don’t think their talent is that much better than ours, and they’re 38-21. IT is a great closer, yes, but the rest is kinda soso…

I don’t think Boston is better than us when it comes to talent but their coach is managing that team much much better which is weird because our coach is also the president of basketball.
