Comments from the Other Side - Nets 10/13/16

 Nets fans alternate from being excited about the season to despair over being terrible.  I love the fact that they mention the interesting hair styles on the Celtics when Jeremy Lin is on their team.  I love that Brad is playing the bench down the stretch in these preseason games.  That experience will come in handy once the real games start.  I do think the Nets will be better this season than they were last season, which isn't saying much.   My favorites are in bold.  What are yours? 


Nets better not rest lin or Lopez for this game. Our first regular season game is against the Celtics, so we need to practice at full strength

I even think Kenny should try to win this game since the Celtics will be the team that you will open the season with...so you want to prove you can play against them.

IT finally starts making bucket after Lin took the rest... Lin played really tough defense this game ...I am impressive!!!

Man... Celtics are playing IT long minutes

Nets can definitely score on teams without a mess of plus defenders or dominant shot blocker. Bradley and Crowder are + defenders and in a real gametime situation they'll put Bradley on Lin since IT2 cant check diddly. But in this situation BroLo can abuse the BOS interior and Lin is easily wreaking havoc on the perimeter with his speed.

Regarding the pick swap with Celtics, can they decide after the lottery or do they have a deadline before the draft to make the decision?

Would they still want to swap picks?

Considering that the swap is based on the regular season, the Celtics would have the entire season to decide. Unless the Celtics completely implode and the Nets shock the world, they will be getting the Nets pick. :lol:

We clearly look better than last year's team.

Boston must hope for a amnesty clause coming with new CBA. They might feel like hitting jackpot this summer with Horford, but they just won the privilege to pay 33 and 34 year old Al Horford 28 and 30 mill in few years

Just realized this is likely to be the closest we get to a playoff series this year, with 3 games against the same team in just a few days. So far it's a battle.

Thomas has been shut down by lin

Boston is a good test for being able to compete against the playoff teams. They are pretty good defensively too. Strip the ball alot.

it’s no contest, Thomas is and has been better. I like Lin but Thomas is definitely better.

It looks like Nets big guys are almost ready to play against at least middle level teams. Harris is good.

We did beat Boston twice last year. Good team but extremely overrated. They are still a team lacking shooting and spacing. Our defensive intensity is there but Boston isn't that good offensively.

Outstanding defensively and they don't turn it over. Plenty of shooting with Thomas, Bradley, jerebko, horford, olynick. They can switch 1 through 5. They the defense to keep eveythign close and the go to scorer to get them wins late. Not overrated at all. Lock 48-50 win team

Yeah, but people were talking championship contenders and some still are. It's no disrespect to them but they just appear to be an Eastern Conference version of the Grizzlies. Still a JJ Redick or Hayward away from being an elite team.

I don't understand why people just can't give other teams their due. One can believe that the addition of Horford won't yield as much of an additional positive impact as pundits think, but how can people dismiss a team that has repeatedly beat expectations out so regularly that people are now forced to recognize that they are a good team.

The Nets stink. Boston is a good playoff team that is a top 10-20 player away from serious contention. We're far from being them. Just because we're not good doesn't mean that we need to drag everyone else down with us.
