Comments from the Other Side - Hawks Round 1 Game 4 4/24/16

A lot of fun comments today!  I love how the Hawks fans talk about Celtics fans complaining about everything and then they do nothing but complain themselves.  The refs didn't call many fouls on either team and mostly let them play.  20 fouls called on Atlanta and 19 on the Celtics but reading their comments you would think that the Celtics had zero fouls to 50 for the Hawks.  I have a pacemaker and the comment is right - these games are tough!  And the fan who said that the Celtics are like a completely different team in the 2 home games.  They are right.  What a difference.  Hopefully the home team Celtics show up in game 5.  In talking about having to tank to build a team, they seem to have forgotten how the Celtics missed the playoffs one season and were back in it and now are back again and ALSO have a top 5 pick.  Love it!   My favorites are in bold.  What are yours? 


Can you imagine if Hawk killer Avery Bradley had not gone down after that huge Celtic come back from a 19 point deficit to take the lead late in the 4th quarter and probably steal game one?

Punish your opponents small ball strategy early and often... Play inside out and quiet the 6th man (crowd)! Send the message early and often...

That 6th-man factor is bigger than many believe.

The Hawks win today, and close it out on Tuesday.

Who will the mighty Celtics choose, on the Atlanta team, to put out of all playoff games tonight? You just know they would love to break a Hawk arm or leg. Keep watching because it's coming, I believe. Maybe not intentional, but watch for it.

With Turner & Smart assuming ball-handling duties, more emphasis needs to be placed on forcing them into turning the ball over. These two aren’t the greatest of ball-handlers, and on a few occasions the Hawks did well to trap them against the sidelines and force the turnover.

We need someone to stay in front of Thomas...stop him cutting to the rim (even if he does not have the ball in hand)

Just my opinion, but we took Boston’s best punch on Friday night. Absolute game they had to have, new lineup, new adjustments, home game, big crowd. Atlanta is going to be ready for all of that tonight. Go get em.

IT will come down to Earth He is not the type of player to put up 40 2 games in a row. Like many people here, I am perfectly fine with him have to average 40 just for Boston to have a chance.

Boston looked like a completely different team. They are more Jeckyll and Hyde than us with a heck of a coach. It won't be easy.

Celtics gets the win today I had the Hawks in 5, but with the way the refs acting, I say Hawks in 6 or 7. But I hope I’m wrong (like always) and Hawks ends this in 5.

The NBA doesn't want the Hawks to win this series. The Hawks needs to make a statement this game to have a chance but it won't be easy.

You see that hilarious Smart flop from last game? I wish refs would be less likely to call fouls when a team flops as often as they do, like a "boy who cried wolf" scenario. Unfortunately it never seems to work that way.

Only two fouls on Boston so far and 1 of those was the foul to give (intentional) Hawks need to put some pressure on the refs by driving the ball more.

Let me give you the Boston fan explanation You can’t blame Jae for the knee to the gut, he had to get up. How can you expect him to put his weight on his left leg? It was touching the floor. Clearly, he had to put the weight on the right leg to get up because it had red padding underneath it.

Last time we faced Boston in the playoffs, we went 0-3 at Boston. Previous time, we went 0-4. This time we are 0-2. Yeah....we have to go 4-0 in Atlanta or we arent winning this series.

Isaiah Thomas shouldn't have even played in this game, but this series is the NBA's first round cash cow.

I am sick of losing to the Celtics in the playoffs. It would be embarrassing to lose to them this year with their injuries and our better roster makeup

This was our angry/revenge game and we lost. sadly, we had a 16 point lead in the 3rd. The crucial moments really came in the last half of that period. It should not have been close. We should have had a cushion.

Millsap improved and it seemed like nobody else wanted to get better after a horrendous game 3. I question the work ethic and character of all the Hawks (excluding Millsap) and even Bud.

Hawks need to consider tanking, imo
The way it stands now, they wont ever get a superstar or win a championship. They are too good to get a high pick and not good enough to win it all. Either that, or find a way to get a big name FA in here (which is very tough).
