Comments from the Other Side - Jazz 2/19/16

Not a great effort by the Celtics in this game.  Before the game Marc D'Amico mentioned that the Celtics' strength is their chemistry and that a 10 day layoff might mess with that and I guess he was right.  Not a lot of cohesion and very little team defense.   Hopefully they shook the rust off with that game and will get back to playing Celtics team ball on Sunday.   Don't make Danny regret keeping this group together!!  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?

Last night the entire team looked like they would have rather been hanging out in Gordon's hotel room playing video games. Will they show with a desire to win a basketball game tonight?

I feel like this team has lost so many games in recent years that losing games is kind of no big deal. Sure the team wants to win and make the playoffs, but there’s no killer instinct here.

We need us a dubya. We need us a dubya, bad.

Weird pockets of Celtics fans in Montana

there's lots of Celtics fans. I’m disappointed.

All right. Let's try this basketball thing again tonight.

ovada has Jazz at +1.5 vs the Celtics tonight.. What??? Isn't Jared Sullinger the center since Kelly Olynk is out? Jared is listed 6'9, how could he rebound against Gobert? I'm expecting Jazz to out-rebound the Celtics at least by 10 if not 20. I'm expecting a layup drills tonight against the Celtics, I wouldn't be surprised if jazz wins by 15-20.

Jazz have got to be exhausted..... That is why. Celtics have been in SLC since Wednesday

Maybe alittle bit, but defense and rebounds will always be there, fatigue might affect jump shooters alittle, but against the Celtics, it will be a Layup drills.

Uh you know the Celtics are like top 10 in both offense and defense right?

I would be pleasantly surprised if we won. Boston's a great team, and we have no answer for their guards,

Man Isaiah Thomas is going to demolish us. We get destroyed by PGs. Sucks its the league's deepest position

Since this is our first (and only?) nationally televised game of the season. Lets not get embarrassed on National TV Jazz!

No Celtics player had their hand over their heart for the anthem. Win this one for America, Jazz.

This is very good test for us. Let's see if we can contain that little sucker PG.

I like Neto's start already, aggressive

Isiah Thomas ain't no John Wall on defense either

Isiah goin solo tonight

Celtics getting wide open looks Lucky they are missing

The C's are smart doing their moving screens with their butts. Subtle, illegal, but effective.

These turnovers leading to points is getting ridiculous

Burke and Booker get onto the court Our team’s average BBall IQ drops 10 points

Seems like lots of cheering for Celtic's baskets

Of course Turner would hit a 3 against us

The refs are'nt calling this the same way on both ends.

8 TO's vs. 0 for Boston. Just unacceptable. We're lucky we shot lights out that quarter.

Scouting report: just steal the ball from the jazz repeatedly

Celtics announcer just said playing hard is a skill in this league

Well Booker takes it to heart Play harder! Not smarter!

Good thing Boston shooting 34%

On track for 30 turnovers & 20 three pointers made.....Jazz basketball

Man Avery Bradley is one hell of a defender.

Shut up Cs fans

Luckily the C's are having their post all star break hangover tonight

LMAO that foul call tho With 20 seconds left in the clock, "oh yeah I was going to shoot it from half court, good catch ref".

Curry does that.

Isaiah Thomas ain't curry. And curry don't take half court shots in the middle of a quarter with lots of time on the shot clock. If he did he would be a ****ing idiot

If you know someone is about to foul you it makes sense though. I like the call, I just don't like that it was late. I hate people fouling to stop fast breaks, so boring.

Every player, when being defended at all should just throw the ball up into the air, yell, and act as if they got hit every possession. Hell it seems to work about half the time anyway. It really is a pretty good strategy... If you sign and develop good enough actors

That needs to be added to the draft combine workouts. How good of an actor are you? Being a good actor is as valuable of a skill as any in the NBA.

He felt Ingles make contact on the reach in, so he shot the ball from half court to draw the foul. There is nothing wrong with that, and the fact that he "would never do that normally" is completely irrelevant. Had it been a Jazz player who did it, everyone would be talking about his amazing quick instincts, and the total fairness of the call.

2 of the latest whistles I have ever heard. The second one on hood during the loose ball was the probably the latest whistle of all time. Then the favors phantom call against crowder. **** these refs

Think Smarts flopping history went against him there

Of course Gorman and Scalabrine are complaining non-stop about the calls. Gorman especially was completely ridiculous on that flop by Smart at the end of the half.

Sullinger hasn't been passing on too many donuts has he?

I want to ref the NBA I mean I couldn’t do much worse could I?

Thomas is shooting poorly But has 9 ft’s. Hayward needs to get to the line when he is struggling.

Sorry, Zeller has one of those faces That make you want to smash it – I’m a cretin, I know.

Burke guarding Thomas is a recipe for disaster

we’re owning these fools.

Seems like we have gotten up 7 - 9 points 10 times this game and then let them back in it

Celtic broadcaster said the Celtics were going to blow this game open in the 3rd LOL

Sometimes watching Hayward is sooooo frustrating! And then 3 seconds later he hits a triple.

Thomas is really good. Celtics will get a good player from the draft. They will be really good

He is really good, but how far can you go with a 5'9 PG?

Boston guards really think they can shoot on Favors/Gobert lmao. 3 blocks for each.

Hayward giving Brad S an eyefull.

Jazz would have a better record than Boston if they were healthy all season So I don't understand why espn guys seem so surprised jazz are winning

IT chucks one up from half-court: 3 free throws. DF undercut by IT on clear FG attempt: refs lose whistle.

Smart is a flopper

Crowder could be Carroll's twin brother

Smart passes up a wide open lay up to run into Hood.

Ugh, Rudy had the ball for a moment, but looked like he got complacent And Smart took that right out of his hands.

Am I supposed to dislike Smart this much?

Yes though part of the reason for that is Bill Simmons

Anyone else think Marcus Smart looks kinda like a male version of Queen Latifa?!?!???

What was Smart barking? That guy's annoying.

Boston interior defense not so good

Marcus Smart is my new least-favorite player to watch in the NBA. If I had to watch his antics every night I wouldn't be a fan of basketball.

Smart needs a proactive commercial

Marcus smart flops so much

Thank god we won that coin toss. We <3 exum="" span="" you="">

That guy belongs on the Clippers. It would be a seamless fit.

I feel like the Celtics are wasting Rozier. He looked pretty good in the preseason but has rotted on the bench behind Thomas & Smart.

Lol, refs quit letting the Celtics play physical but they aren't getting the memo

To be fair, that foul was weak

I think I'd trade Snyder for Stevens    And Pop or Carlisle. That’s probably it.

Why is Stevens so great ?   Not buying the hype

Look at their roster    And their record. Pretty telling.

Stevens doesn't have a murder face

Snyder > Stevens   No question.

I'm pretty surprised with this result. The Celtics are basically a much better version of the Wizards. I also thought flying across the country for a B2B would've negated the home court advantage.

James Young sighting!!!!

The Celtics took Young over Hood. Feels good.

First time I heard his name mentioned since draft night, that's pretty bad.

Is James Young the player on Boston who looks homeless?

The first half was painfully nostalgic, and the missed free throws had me cringing, but a very solid outing in light of a strong third and fourth quarter. Boston is a quality team; I'll take it after last night's debacle.

Did RJ Hunter really just attempt a push off jumper there? What a clown.

Difference today is Thomas' defense compare to wall's.

    1. Mickey played less than 3 minutes and had 2 points and 2 blocks. He's undersized but has an impressive wing span that allows him to play much bigger than his actual height. I just don't understand why they don't give him more of a chance.
