JaVale McGee's Brief Flirtation with the Celtics Good for a Smile (or Two)

It's been an eventful day for the Celtics. Blogs and media outlets all over the internet reported that the Celtics were close to signing JaVale McGee after Danny admitted as much in his weekly radio address. Suddenly there were McGee highlight videos surfacing on every blog and his stats were being analyzed. There were debates for and against the signing. Then, just as suddenly as it began, it was all gone.

Apparently the two sides couldn't agree on a contract for next year. McGee wanted a player option while the Celtics wanted a team option and that was enough to derail the process. Now there are reports that McGee is checking out other teams who showed interest in him. But, the breakup was enough to create hilarity on Twitter.
