Avery Bradley scored 18 points and Brandon Bass added 17 more as the Celtics snuck past the Nuggets, 100-99, Friday night at the Pepsi Center.
Bradley shot 7/11 from the field and 4/5 from the behind the arch in this contest, topping the Celtics' boxscore. As for Bass, his 5/12 performance was also highly contributive, and Jared Sullinger helped the team out with 14 points.
The Celtics got off to a rough start in this one, and didn't appear to be in a position to win after the first quarter. Indeed, in this contest's first 12 minutes the Celtics were out-scored by eight, only reducing that deficit to six by halftime.
However, in the third, Boston began to rally, winning that period 33-26 to finally take a lead heading into the fourth. They still didn't finish things easily when the final moments came around, having to get a go-ahead three and a clutch two from Bradley in the last 90 seconds in order to stay ahead, but nonetheless, they found way to emerge victorious.
They are now 15-26 on the season, the 11th best record in the conference. They'll look to extend their current winning streak to three Sunday night in Oakland, when they visit the Warriors in a game that should truly test their abilities.
