Celtics Can't Get Out of Early Hole in Loss to Heat

Tyler Zeller scored 22 points and Kelly Olynyk added 13 more, but since six Miami players reached double-digits and Boston never out-scored its opponent in a quarter, the Celtics fell to the Heat last night, 100-84, snapping the former's three-game win streak.

Zeller indeed played well for the Celtics this one, shooting 10/15 from the field to top their boxscore. Besides him, though, nothing too great happened to the visitors, with Heat forward Luol Deng racking up 23 and James Ennis following him with 16.

The Celtics trailed this contest by seven after twelve minutes and ten at halftime, so it was clear they weren't in the best of positions for most of the night. They looked better in the third and fourth periods, but since Miami still seemed to have more momentum the Celtics were never able to make a serious comeback.

They are now 10-15 on the season, having lost for the first time since December 12. That record's the ninth best in the conference, trailing the Nets by a half-game for the eight spot.
