Celtics Blow Another Second Half Lead in Loss to Trail Blazers

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 20 points and Chris Kaman followed him with 16 more as the Trail Blazers rallied in the second half to beat the Celtics, 94-88, Sunday at the TD Garden.

The Celtics looked good in the first half of this one, leading by two after the first quarter and five at halftime. Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger topped them with 19 each, with Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo also chipping in 13.

However, throughout the third, Boston's advantage began to slip away, and by the time the last minutes came around Portland had complete control. They had rallied to out-rebound the Celtics 55-46, and raised their field goal percentage to 43% (37/86).

Indeed, the Celtics were behind by multiple possessions late in this contest, a major reason why they eventually fell in low-scoring fashion. The loss is their eighth in twelve games this season, giving them the conference's eleventh-best record.

They will now take a few days off before returning to action with a Friday meeting with the Bulls, their first afternoon matchup of the year.
