Comments from the Other Side - Cavs Game 2 5/19/17

 I know that these are a lot more fun when the Celtics win but also instructive when they lose.  I really dislike the bandwagon Cavs fans.  They hated LeBron a couple of years ago and now he's better than Michael Jordan.  Also a couple of years ago these same fans hated their own team.  So it's fun to read these comments and think that in a couple of years they'll be back to hating the Cavs and LeBron's PED's use will finally catch up to him and the Celtics will be able to beat them just as easily as they are beating the Celtics now.  I plan to fully remember this then.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours? 



Win this game and we get the brooms ready... I fully expect Boston to play bully ball and try to out muscle us or play dirty as they must feel disrespected.

Smart set the tone there late in the game to let the Cavs know they are going to try and turn Game 2 into a "mugging". THe Cavs have to look out for Smart and Kelly O's "dirty" plays because they know they can't go down 0-2 to us like they did with the Bulls.

I don't think it will escalate too bad.
These guys are wannabes.

It’s fair to wonder if, after a tough shooting game, the Celts might just ask the Cavaliers shooters to beat them instead of James getting repeated wide open layups with little resistance on the way.
Brad Stevens: "OK guys, we’re gonna switch things up on defense. Keep LeBron out of the paint at ALL COSTS! Now, the Hawks tried this strategy against them last year, so let’s watch some film to see what we can learn."

One difference is playoff composure, and wannabe contenders like the Celtics don't realize that's something beyond winning 50-games, the top-seed, or coming out on top in a 7-game series against another wannabe team.

The Celtics started hitting some 3's later in the game to keep it from being a joke. Thomas seemed to try to pass the ball a lot to get others going. For tonight's game I think Boston tries to break the record for 3 point attempts and IT tries to put them on his little shoulders.

Boston couldn't be anymore boring of an opponent in the conference finals... From an excitement factor I would have preferred Washington....Just put Boston to sleep and try to get out of this 4 game scrimmage healthy...

Boston is kind of dangerous in that they play a physical style often bordering on cheap shotting. As the series continues I could see them ratcheting up the bush league tactics

Love will tee off tonight. They're starting Gerald Green in place of Johnson.

They must think the Cavs are the Bulls. Lebron is going to have a field day on Green. Green better muscle up.

I damn sure hope the refs keep an eye on Thomas and all his damn ball carries. Little dude changes directions all the time by carrying the ball and they don't call it.

His carries are a joke. Flat out double dribbles. Everyone in the NBA gets away with a few carries here and there. But IT gets away with CARRIES. Worse in the league since Iverson.

I think this is the easiest opponent for the Cavs. Maybe not the worst team we've played. Boston doesn't have a single match up advantage.

The problem Boston has is Thompson outplayed Horford yearly. There is no counter to it. Going to Tyler Zller doesn't help. Stevens has no cards left to play other than maybe going hack a Tristan early. His best player is a 5'9 point guard and his second best player gets owned every year by the Cavs 4th or 5th best player. If that makes Stevens a bad coach, whatever. Its far more to do with the massive talent gap, which is a credit to the Cleveland players and management.

Tbh, I wasn't super impressed with his coaching in earlier rounds where they weren't way outmatched though.

I love how overpowered we are against the Celtics, especially since I hate the Celtics. Refs need to adjust the sliders to make it more fair.

Boston has all but quit. This is unprecedented.

Why is it always the losing team that's terrible? Why can't the winning team just be that good?

In all fairness, I'm stunned at the fact that so many Celtics fans have stayed through this and even kept chanting.

Probably the biggest thing Boston can hang their hat on is that Jaylen is 100% Team Tryhard

I'm actually surprised they are running Jaylen Brown the whole 4th. He was like their only good player and they are wearing him down in garbage time. I know he is young so it is theoretically for experience. But I'd treat him like a starter and rest him for next game.

The Celtics are thinking much longer term. Plus he is young enough to play major minutes if needed.
