Comments from the Other Side - Bulls Game 2 4/18/17

The Bulls fans sure do whine alot about the officiating.  The refs pretty much let both sides play.  There weren't a lot of fouls called either way.   I love how they trash Wade all through the game and then he hits a couple of big shots at the end and he's awesome again!   I also think it's funny that some Bulls fans still hate Rondo even though he's on their team.  I still love this Celtics team and feel that the tragedy that struck the day before their first playoff game may be affecting them.  I was disappointed to read the Celtics' forums and see Celtics fans bashing this team.   I wouldn't be surprised if they came back to win the series.  And, I wouldn't bash them if they didn't.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?

I honestly think we lose this one. Might be a blowout. Hope not, hope I'm wrong. But if we play as bad as we did game 1, I doubt we have a chance to take game 2.

Bulls have lost 5 of last 7 playoff series where they won game 1. 4 to LeBron and 1 with Rose going down to a knee. Meaningless stat I guess, because we won the ones not against LeBron.

Isaiah Thomas intends to play, but there's a good possibility he won't. Right now sounds like it's 50/50

The Celts are now at a crossroads.... Will they lose their confidence, or will they endure the Bulls effort? Stay tuned for game two.

When will refs realize Marcus Smart flops ALL THE TIME

Boston will make their adjustments. But our rebounding will still be so dominating. I'm calling Game 2 victory as well.

I caught myself paying attention to the Wiz Hawks matchup because I started to assume we'd win this series

IT will struggle, IMO. The tragedy will hit him because the 1st game was more on emotion and adrenaline.

IT will be in Seattle on Tuesday. Bulls should win handily.

Stevens is going to make adjustments and they will probably be the right adjustments.

I'd be slightly more worried by this if the guy had ever won an NBA playoff series.
Don't bet on IT sitting out. If so, good for the Bulls but I won't bet on it. I think the Celtics win game 2 but we've got home court advantage from them so we just need to take care of our home games.

Rondo and Wade will have this team ready to steal game 2. Niko will make a positive appearance, Bobby will give us another good game, and Jimmy will continue to show everyone that he belongs in the superstar discussion.

I dont think we can be as dominant on the boards as we were in game one. We out fought them, definitely, but we also had a lot of lucky bounces go past their guys and to us. I expect the reboundING differential to swing back a bit, though we gotta keep winning that battle.

Something to watch out for is Avery Bradley. I think out of all the defenders he guarded Butler the best. When Jimmy is facing Bradley he should not be trying to attack him from the three point line or the top of the key. He should be in the mid post area imo. Jimmy tried to go into the post on Bradley but the bulls committed two turnovers trying to do so. Jimmy shook loose from Bradley off some down screens and was able to hit a few jumpers. Butler also drew a foul on Bradley at the 3 point line. But Bradley perimeter defense is to good for Butler to be trying to shake Bradley loose at the top of the key. It's hard for point guards to shake off Bradley so you know it's tough for a forward to get enough separation from him.

Butler is the best player in this series. By far. That gives us a winning chance in every game.

Just remember not only are the Celtics going to make adjustments but the refs are too. They watched filmed to see how many more fouls they could phantomly call.

You can't actually believe the refs go in thinking "how many phantom fouls can we call?" That's just absurd. Celtic fans complain about the refs too but that's just silly dude.

This is just sad. Bulls attempted more FT's than Boston...

Just win this game and crush all their hope from coming back.

Damn, I didn't even think about the mini storyline with the 09 series flashback lol. Celtics are again the 1 seed, and we are the 8th. Willfully a different outcome this time though. Classic series

My current and eternal dislike of Rondo stems pretty directly from their matchup that series, and the constant arguments of Rose v Rondo v Williams as the best young PG. That and Rondo's alien form not yet appearing fully human. Can we trade him back for, like Gerald Green for the series?

There are no bigger frauds in the NBA than the Celtics. Get up 2-0 and they'll crumble. This is the swing game in the series Imo.
Dare Crowder/Smart/passive Horford to beat you. They can't. Keep blitzing IT on pick and rolls and let the game play out as it may. They are sheep skin soft.

That's OK, w're kinda frauds as a playoff team, so it's a good matchup.

I was surprised at how passive their bigs played out of the pick and pop. They had a lot of open looks because we were trapping Thomas, but they pretty much ignored them, instead looking for a pass or entering the post. Horford in particular would be much more dangerous if he looked to attack immediately off the catch.

I had no idea Thomas was capable of scoring without the refs. Of course, it may only be because our defenders know they're not allowed to jump or try to defend him.

Isaiah is an amazing offensive player, but it's pretty sad that Boston has to rely on a 5'8" to carry them so much.

Celtics have a plethora of talent, but none of it is all that great. Its being exposed so far this series. A bunch of quality players, but outside of IT4, there isn't a player that can really create their own offense.
