Comments from the Other Side - Raptors 2/24/17

Bad loss for the Celtics.  Not only do they lose the season series to the Raptors but they let them a full game closer and give them confidence going into the playoffs.  When the Raptors amped up their defense, the Celtics just seemed to crumble.  They have to find a solution for that because it happens too often.  That being said, I love how Raptors fans go from "we stink" to "we are awesome"  in the space of a game.  Also they trash just about every player on the team and then sing their praises at the end.   After watching Ibaka and PJ Tucker especially in this game,  I really wonder if Danny didn't make a mistake in letting both go to the Raptors.  The Celtics should have been able to get them,   I wanted Danny to go after PJ Tucker and was really disappointed when I saw the Raptors pick him up.  10 rebounds on no sleep and he didn't even practice with them.  Hopefully Danny has a plan B.  On to the next one... Hopefully the Celtics will be ready!   My favorites are in bold.  What are yours?

Definitely one of the bigger games of the season. A win would show Boston and the rest of the East that our new look lineup is serious about contending for the top (second place).

JV/Ibaka should in theory be a match-up nightmare for Horford/Amir. Thomas is in for a treat when he beats Lowry/JV in the 1/5 pick and roll and gets his shot blocked into the 5th row by Ibaka

Casey said said Ibaka created some buzz on the defensive end at first practice after break.

IT is the closest clone to AI that I've seen yet. A lot of things he does are Iverson-like. That said, I do feel that our advantages outweigh theirs.

Danny boy had the good fortune to have a Russian mob guy in Prokhorov buy a basketball team then instruct his GM Billy King to stock it with name brand players at any price. Ainge got to Billy first and King with no options really had to buy the declining Pierce and Garnett for what seems to be 1000 first round draft picks. Danny did make a trade for IT but really hasn't done much with the truckload of draft picks he has amassed.

No, I disagree entirely. Read the history of the formation of the Big 3. Then consider that Ainge traded Rondo (and Dwight Powell) for Crowder and a first, then signed Crowder to one of the best team bargains in the NBA. Also look at how he acquired Isaiah Thomas. Finally, he took a risk on hiring a very young unproven coach and then empowered him to run the team without interference. Now all of that is in addition to risking the serious outrage that came with dealing a beloved Hall of Fame, championship winning player like Paul Pierce, not to mention KG. It looks simple enough now but at the time it was a controversial move for Boston fans. Ainge has his flaws, but he is very, very shrewd.

I have a feeling from here on out once the Celtics lose to us their hot streak will go on a decline
