Comments from the Other Side - Hawks Game 2 4/19/16

What a terrible game.  I mean, SEVEN points in the first quarter.  That is historically awful.  It's concerning that the nagging injuries are adding up.  There's Bradley and Olynyk, of course.  But Crowder's ankle is a problem, Marcus has the finger and now rib problem, Isaiah's wrist isn't right.  Those players won't use them as an excuse but they are definitely hampering their ability to hit shots.  Fans on both sides were complaining about the officiating but it wasn't all that bad.  They let a lot of contact go on both sides but I think the Hawks got the better of it.  But the officiating wasn't a reason for the Celtics laying an egg.  It seems when the opponents ramp up their defense the Celtics can't handle the pressure and if the refs are letting them play through a lot of contact, it is even worse.  The comments are not so much fun when we lose this bad.  My favorites are in bold.  What are yours? 



Oh wow.....Scott Foster and Tony Brothers are calling the game The whole package. Hawks are gunna have to plan for one of their starting 5 to be in foul trouble. Probably their bigs. Hopefuly they can pull through…. When Scott Foster is reffing, the away team has won 12 out of the last 13 road playoff games!! That’s def not a coincidence.

Tony Brothers is worst He’s the one who called a foul on Millsap when the rookie from Chicago elbowed him…….after reviewing it.


By barely escaping game 1 I expect the Hawks to not have the game 2 letdown a lot of teams (that win big in game 1) have The officials give me concerns though.

We didn't barely escape it As soon as they took Dennis out in the third we got it back under control and they were in foul trouble the entire second half

We barely escaped. Boston took the lead with less than 5 minutes left in the game.

Playing Boston this first round is reminiscent of when, Iso-Joe, Josh and Al were battling KG, Pierce and Rondo. Hopefully, the outcome is ... Hawks win the series. One thing is for sure, there will be no sweep. Boston should win at least two contest based on, Celtic Pride alone.

Let's be different tonight, and just take them to the woodshed for all 4 quarters.

Let's also be honest, The Atlanta Hawks should not struggle beating Boston with one of their best players out. Just like they should not have struggled to beat the Wizards with no John Wall, struggled against the lowly NJ Nets.. Avery Bradley is the best defender on their team and the second best scorer. If the team plays the way they should, they should not have problems with the Celtics.

Hate it for Bradley that he won't be able to play but I'm not sorry about it. Hope by the time he heals up that Boston will be on vacation.

I cant shake the feeling the Hawks drop this game tonight. Hope I'm wrong.

Well several things concern me about this game tonight. Unfortunately our team doesn't have a "killer" instinct when it comes to beating teams they should. They remind me of the "Settlers" commercial. They don't adjust well at all and settle for outside shots even if they aren't falling. What really concerns me believe it or not is the fact that the Celtics are missing two good players and we know how we play against teams that are short handed...we don't. If we don't put this team away like we should considering their dilemma then I'm convinced this playoff run will be very short.

Brad Stevens' low-key demeanor is 1 reason Celts don't panic when down big. But I wonder if it also plays a role in their flat starts

The refs are influencing the game since quite a while with a lot of small bad calls. That is on purpose to get on our nerves. And it's working.

Boston's starting lineup is still in. There has been some lineup adjustments but they haven't been fully adjusted

Beautiful defence and we did not win by 50 only because that's bad for business and the refs did their best to keep Boston in the game, completely disrupting out offence.
