Celtics put up good fight at Golden State, but fall 114-111

Jared Sullinger scored 26 points and Evan Turner pitched in 19 more, but since Klay Thompson dropped 31 for Golden State and Stephon Curry was right there with 22 of his own, the Celtics fell to the Warriors, 114-111, Sunday night in Oakland.

Sullinger shot 9/17 from the field in this contest, topping the Celtics' scoring while tying for their rebounding lead with nine. Besides him, Turner's 7/12 performance also helped stop the Warriors from pulling away, and Avery Bradley solidly contributed 15 points.

The Celtics struggled for the majority of this one, trailing by seven at halftime and 12 after three quarters. In the fourth, Boston began to get back in it with a 34-25 victory, but nonetheless, ran out of time before completing a comeback.

They are now 15-27 on the season, having had their nice two-game win streak snapped by a very difficult opponent. They'll look to turn things back in a positive direction when they visit the Jazz Monday, a game that should be close considering the two's similar records.
