Big Fourth Quarter Lifts Celtics to Win Over Magic

Brandon Bass scored 18 points and Jeff Green added 16 more as the Celtics pulled away late to beat the Magic, 109-92, Wednesday night at the TD Garden.

Bass didn't do much more than put the ball in the basket in this one, shooting 6/10 from the field and 6/6 from the free throw line. Green, meanwhile, made 2/5 three-point attempts, while Jared Sullinger matched his total with 16 and Kelly Olynyk contributed 15.

This contest remained close until the fourth quarter, with the Celtics leading by just one after 12 minutes, three after 24 and five after 36. Much of the reason for that was the fact Nikola Vucevic had 18 for Orlando, but nonetheless, things wouldn't stay that way forever.

Because in last period, the Celtics suddenly got hot, out-scoring the Magic 31-19 to clinch the victory.  They are now 9-13 on the season, having won two in a row by 17+.

This win, though, was different, as it came against a solid opponent instead of the last-place 76ers.
