Get Excited: Celtics Preseason Schedule is Out

I know it's still about 2 months until we get to see any basketball but every little step forward is a step closer to that time. Today, the Celtics released their schedule for preseason games. There are no big surprises as far as the opponents. They will be playing their division rivals two times each for a total of 8 preseason games.

Here is the schedule:
Oct. 6 Philadelphia 76ers TD Garden (Boston) 7:30 p.m. ET
Oct. 8 New York Knicks XL Center (Hartford, Conn.) 7:30 p.m. ET
Oct. 10 Toronto Raptors Air Canada Centre (Toronto) 7 p.m. ET
Oct. 11 New York Knicks Mohegan Sun Arena (Uncasville, Conn.) 7:30 p.m. ET
Oct. 15 Toronto Raptors Cross Insurance Arena (Portland, Maine) 7:30 p.m. ET
Oct. 16 Philadelphia 76ers Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia) 7 p.m. ET
Oct. 19 Brooklyn Nets Barclays Center (Brooklyn, N.Y.) 3 p.m. ET
Oct. 22 Brooklyn Nets TD Garden (Boston) 7:30 p.m. ET

As we have seen in the past, games will mostly be played away from the regular venues. They will play the opening and closing games in the TD Garden. Between those, they will play in non-NBA venues including the XL Center in Hartford, the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, and The Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine. They will also play at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The Knicks may not look very different from what we saw last season. The Nets will have a new coach and will no longer have Paul Pierce. The Raptors and Sixers should be improved. But then again, so should the Celtics.
