Perk Hits a Big Shot Against Grizzlies

Anyone who knows me in the least knows that I love Kendrick Perkins.   He has been my favorite player since his rookie year with the Celtics. Maybe as a mother and grandmother and having watched him grow up on the Celtics I have a certain mother hen instinct toward him.  He often is unappreciated because he does so much that will never show up in the box score.   Those are things that his coach and his teammates appreciate, but many fans who look at the numbers don't see. Well, this time, Perk did something that everyone had to appreciate.

The Thunder were down two after a miracle 4 point play by Kevin Durant. Russell Westbrook missed a corner 3 but there was Perk to clean up the rebound and put it back to tie the game and send it to overtime. Unfortunately, Perk fouled out in OT and the Thunder struggled to hit their shots and the Grizzlies evened up the series with a win. But, Perk's rebound and put back will more than likely be my favorite moment of the playoffs. Finally everyone loved Perk almost as much as I do for that one moment.

If Danny wants to bring in a rim protector with Celtics Pride and who puts team first,  he should look to bring Perk back to the Celtics.  That would make me one happy grandma.
