I love beating the Lakers. It's even better when the win is a humiliating blow out. The Lakers were jubilant when the Celtics got called for 5 fouls inside of 30 seconds to start the game but when the calls started to even out, they started crying and whining about it. Of course, there were multiple wheelchair references. And I got the feeling that most Lakers fans hate their own players as much as they do the Celtics. My favorites are in bold. What are yours? Enjoy....
I just saw a pic of Rondo in a Lakers jersey and it weirded me out.
Boston has been red hot since Rondo went down, hope MWP comes back and plays well vs Pierce. We cant let guys like Jeff Green, Jason Terry, Courtney Lee and Barbosa go off on us.
Two oldass teams but we have Clark.
Blowout by Celtics.
Lakers are rested and Celtics playd a close game last night. Old teams can't play back to back games. We got this one. Book it.
We have won three road games in a row you know. The Celtics aren't a huge team. Hopefully Dwight will play that will make a win much more probable but even without him I could see us winning.
Kill the leprechauns. The new season starts tonight!
Lakers will beat the Celtics. They played last night. They are old and slow. Nobody can stop Kobe. If Dwight plays they have no answer for him. This one's in the bag.

Underrated Stat of the Night - Lakers 2/7
Thursday, February 7, 2013
by Jack Niemuth 11:27 PM
Tonight we watched the Celtics do exactly what everyone expected. They won pretty easily by the score of 116-95. Pierce led the C's with a nice 24 points, while Green pitched in 19. Kevin Garnett, who scored 15 points, became the sixteenth player in NBA history to score 25,000 points with a turnaround jump shot in the first half. Congratulations to him.
Tonight's USOTN goes to the surprisingly bad performance of Leandro Barbosa. He's been pretty hot recently, but tonight just wasn't his night. In 21 minutes of play, Barbosa had 0 points on 0/6 shooting. It was disappointing, but could've been worse. It could've been in a close game.
Tonight's win put the Celtics a 1/2 game in front of the Bucks for the eastern conference's seventh seed. You may not think of this as much, but check the standings. If the season ended today, they would be playing the Knicks while the Bucks would be playing the Heat. Remember that the Knicks have virtually no playoff experience. But, there's a good chance that the Celtics won't finish seventh. If they keep playing like this, I'd expect to finish off no worse than fifth.

Live Game Updates - Lakers @ Celtics
by Jack Niemuth 5:14 PM
7:25: The Celtics, after their well-earned win in Toronto, will host the arch-rival Lakers tonight at the Garden. The Lakers and Celtics are both starting to heat up as LA is on a three-game win streak and Boston is on a five-game win streak. The Celtics are now an overall 25-23 while the Fakers are 23-26. I expect Celtics to win tonight, but I won't guarantee it. We'll just have to see. Keep checking back here after each quarter for updates.
9:09: The Celtics played great in the first half. They did exactly what they needed to do and have taken a 58-44 lead at halftime. Paul Pierce, not surprisingly, leads the Celtics with 12 points. On the other end, Kobe leads the Lakers with 14 points. The Lakers are shooting a terrible 37.8% from the field and 8/18 from the free throw line. If they are going to comeback and win, they will have to improve those stats.
11:23: Tonight, the Celtics won their sixth consecutive game over the Lakers, 116-95. They are now overall 26-23 and seventh place in the conference. This was a fun last two days to be a C's fan. The Celtics won't be playing again until Sunday night when they host the Denver Nuggets. That game is a game that I already want to watch just so I can see the Celtics dominate again.

Comments from the Other Side - Raptors 2/6
by FLCeltsFan 11:58 AM
Good win for the Celtics. They pulled it out in the end. The Raptors fans are always active on their game threads. They complained about their own players a whole lot more than the Celtics though. I can never get used to fans wishing an injury on a player. It's just so wrong. It's also amazing that probably half of the teams in the league hate their coaches. My favorites are in bold. What are yours?
Raptors win 120-53
I'm still optimistic for the playoffs. Celtics just lost two players ( 1 all star ) . They got lucky with the mini streak, and soon they'll start losing just like they were losing earlier.
Aaron Gray gonna go off on that scrub KG
This is an easy win but the playoffs are long gone.
Despite Rondo averaging so many assists, most of them seem like he pads his stats for assists, kinda like how Jose used to pounds the rock for 20 sec, then all you can do with 4 seconds is take a shot, so its an automatic assist

Preview and Official Report - Lakers 2/7
by FLCeltsFan 10:08 AM
 at
Los Angeles Lakers (23-26) at Boston Celtics (25-23) Thursday, February 5, 2013 8:00 PM ET Regular Season Game #49, Home Game #27 TV: TNT, TSN Radio: WEEI, KSPN, ESPNR, WMFS TD Garden Referees: Monty McCutchen, Nick Buchert, Ed Malloy
The Lakers make their only trip to Boston as these two rivals both teams
are boasting winning streaks in spite of struggling with injuries to
key players. When the schedule comes out, there are certain games that
players and fans look for and circle. Lakers games are the first I
look for always. There is no question that this is a rivalry. There
is no love lost between these two franchises or their fans.
Last
season, when both teams were fairing somewhat better, the Lakers won
the series 2-0. Both games were close with the Lakers winning 88-87 in
overtime in Boston and 97-94 in LA. This is their first meeting this
season and the Celtics will pay a visit to the Staples Center later this
month on February 20.
Dwight Howard has been in and out with a
shoulder injury. He missed the game on Tuesday in New Jersey and is
listed as day to day for this game. After the Nets game, Kobe called
Howard out and told him to suck it up and play. Robert Sacre is listed
as the starting center so it appears that Dwight won't be following
Kobe's suggestion. Pau Gasol, who started at center on Tuesday, left
the game in the 4th quarter with a torn plantar fascia and will be out
for this game. If Dwight ignores Kobe's challenge to suck it up and
sits this one out, I expect Robert Sacre to start at center. Kobe has
also had some problems with an elbow injury but has been playing
through it.
The Celtics have also been struggling to overcome
injuries and so far have done an exceptional job of it by winning their
last 5 in a row without Rajon Rondo and the last 4 without Jared
Sullinger. Every player has stepped up in each of those games and
hopefully they will continue to do so in this one.
The Celtics
are playing in back to back games and had to travel from Toronto and so
could be tired. The Lakers had a day of rest going into this game.
I'm pretty certain that this wasn't a coincidence. The Celtics are 5-5
in their last 10 games and 17-9 at home. The Lakers ar 6-4 in their
last 10 and 8-16 on the road. The Celtics are riding a 5 game win
streak while the Lakers have won their last 3.
Some of the
luster may have come off of this rivalry with both teams struggling, but
it is still Lakers vs Celtics, and it is still one of the greatest
rivalries in all of sports. There shouldn't be any lack of motivation
in this game for either team. When these two teams meet up, there's
just one thing to say, and that is Beat LA!!!

Celtics Still Streaking, Top Raptors 99-95
Wednesday, February 6, 2013
by Greg Allen 10:27 PM
On Wednesday night the Celtics played their first of two back-to-back games starting off on the road in Toronto. The Celtics came into the night looking for their fifth straight win, all coming after the loss of their All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo. The Raptors made moves early this trade season and have a new look team led by former Memphis Grizzly, Rudy Gay. Rudy was involved in a blockbuster three team deal that sent longtime Raptor Jose Calderon out of town and brought Gay in.
Life without Rondo has caused the Celtics to implement an all new free flowing offense. In doing so the ball handling responsibilities are being shared by every player on the floor. In their first four wins the Celtics saw a very even distribution of scoring and tonight followed the same script. The team had six players in double digit scoring lead by their defensive anchor Kevin Garnett who finished with a season high 27 points. With the game hanging in the balance the Celtics stayed strong in the final minutes sneaking away with their fifth straight win 99-95.

5 Things Celtics must do to win tomorrow - Lakers 2/7
by Jack Niemuth 9:53 PM
After their thrilling win in Toronto, the Celtics will head back home to face the Lakers. The Lakers are starting to kind of turn things around, but still sit at a rather weak 23-26. Maybe they're a tough opponent, but I just don't see them beating the C's at the Garden. If it was in LA it would be no surprise if they pulled it out. But, as always, we'll just have to wait and see. Here are tomorrow's five things:
5. KEEP GETTING CONTRIBUTIONS FROM BRADLEY:
Avery Bradley had a great game in Toronto. Bradley had a clutch 11 points to go along with a three-pointer. The Celtics just barely won that game, so it's no doubt that his performance was bigger than it looked. If they can get him to score about 10 points a night, they'd be set.
4. KEEP GETTING CONTRIBUTIONS FROM BARBOSA:
I feel like I'm annoying people when I say this, but I'll still say it again. Leandro Barbosa has stepped up and become huge for this team. In Toronto against his old team, Leandro had 14 points and 4 assists. Let's hope this continues.
3. KEEP GETTING CONTRIBUTIONS FROM LEE:
Courtney Lee, similar to Barbosa, has improved his game. Unlike Barbosa, he has done it much slower than I expected. I thought that we'd see him score fifteen points every night, but that didn't start happening until last week. Anyway, he's doing that now. Let's hope he continues.
2. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE LAKERS:
In my opinion, the Lakers and Raptors match-ups are very similar. Mainly because the Celtics are playing the better one of the two at home and the worser on the road. The Lakers are becoming a solid opponent that won't go down easily.
1. GET GARNETT TO DOMINATE:
We saw in Toronto how good the Celtics are when KG scores all the points. If they can get him to have a 20+ point game, I don't see them losing. When Garnett plays well, the whole team plays well. He is slowly becoming the heart and soul of the team.
Tip-off for tomorrow's game is at 8:00 pm ET. Live Game Updates will be available here.

Underrated Stat of the Night - Raptors 2/6
by Jack Niemuth 9:51 PM
Usually after a win like tonight I would complain that they should've won by more. That they were playing a weak opponent who often gets blown out by 30. Tonight wasn't that kind of case. Despite being now just 17-32, the Raptors are very tough to beat and are even tougher now that they have added Rudy Gay. So I consider this a very high quality 99-95 win and a win that makes me proud to be a Celtics fan.
Tonight's USOTN goes to Paul Pierce with his double-double. Pierce seemed to be in KG's shadow for most of this one, but he still looked good. Pierce had 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. His 6 assists, despite not being an extremely high number, led the team. It's impossible to replace a passer like Rondo, but he could try to fill the void.
I also feel like Barbosa could be the next Rondo for the C's. Barbosa, unlike Pierce, is actually a point guard who will have many more opportunities to give up the ball while Pierce is often expected to shoot it. Barbosa had 4 assists tonight which was second on the team. This wasn't amazing, but it was improvement and it shows how much potential both of these guys have. As always, leave your own USOTNs below. Good night.

Red Claws News - Joseph Back, All Star and More
by FLCeltsFan 7:16 PM
With Fab Melo staying with the parent club and Kris Joseph released, we haven't been paying as much attention to the Red Claws. but it's time to update on the news coming out of Maine.
First up, Kris Joseph, who was released by the Celtics on January 6 ahead of the deadline for guaranteeing all contracts, has returned to the Maine Red Claws on a D-League contract
is expected to join the Red Claws in Springfield, MA as the team faces the
Springfield Armor tomorrow night at 7:00 pm ET.
Joseph had originally considered signing a contract in France but changed his mind because he felt that the D-League is the best way to get back to the NBA. I really liked what I was from Joseph. I think he has a big upside and hopefully he can continue to grow his game in Maine and maybe get another shot with the Celtics next season.
Joseph appeared in 10 games on assignment with the Red Claws before he was released from the Celtics. He averaged 17.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game over the 10 games. To make room on the Red Claws' roster for Joseph,
forward DaJuan Summers, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has been moved to the Inactive List.
The Red Claws announced that 4 Red Claws players have been selected to participate in the 2013 NBA Development League All-Star Game to be held at Sprint Arena at NBA All-Star Jam Session at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center at 3 PM (ET) on Saturday, February 16. The 4 players chosen are: guard Shelvin Mack, forward DaJuan Summers, forward Chris Wright and guard/forward Micah Downs. Downs was one of the last cuts from the Celtics training camp roster and has been playing very well in Maine.
Red Claws Head Coach Mike Taylor and his staff will coach the Futures Team at the 2013 NBA Development League All-Star Game when the Prospects and Futures teams take to the court at Sprint Arena on February 16. Taylor, along with assistant coaches Tunde Adekola and J.P. Clark, earned the trip to Houston by virtue of a 17-10 record and winning a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Canton Charge, who had the same record through games of Jan. 27, for the League’s second-best winning percentage.

Live Game Updates - Celtics @ Raptors
by Jack Niemuth 5:24 PM
6:30: Tonight, the Celtics will head north to visit the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors are just 17-31 and currently on a 1-game losing streak. On the other hand, the Celtics are 4-0 since Rondo went down and 24-23 overall. I'm not gonna complain about four straight wins, but I do have to point out that they were all at home, where the C's are 17-9. On the road, they are a dismal 7-14. And their opponent, the Raptors, are a solid 12-12 at home. I think that that gives the Raptors a slight advantage, but I won't be too drastic. We'll just have to see. Remember, if you can't watch the game then check here at CG after each quarter. I'll be updating.
8:16: The Celtics played solid in the first half of this ball game. They struggled in the first quarter, being outscored 23-20. But they bounced back in the second and outscored the Raptors 30-22 to take a 50-45 lead. KG currently leads the C's with 14 points, followed by Lee with 11 and Pierce with 10. The Raptors are currently led by Andrea Bargnani who has 11. Rudy Gay, in his first game against Boston in a Toronto uniform, has 10 points.
8:59: The Celtics didn't try in the third quarter. The Raptors scored at will and now lead after the third, 79-69. Garnett still leads the C's with 16 points. Following him are Lee with 13 and Bradley with 11. The Raptors are led by Rudy Gay with 23, Bargnani with 13, and DeRozan with 13.
9:36: The Celtics, after their dreadful third quarter, rallied late to escape Toronto with a 99-95 victory. The win marks their fifth consecutive, all coming without Rondo. They are now 25-23 overall and, if the Bucks lose tonight in Utah, will be tied for the seventh seed in the eastern conference. Tonight's player of the game was easily Kevin Garnett, who had a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Lee, Barbosa, Bradley, and Pierce all scored in double-digits with big shots in a fourth quarter where Boston out-scored the Raptors 30-16. Stay here at CG, post game and USOTN coming soon.

Preview and Official Report - Raptors 2/6
by FLCeltsFan 11:04 AM
 at
Boston Celtics (24-23) at Toronto Raptors (17-31) Wednesday, February 6, 2013 7:00 PM ET Regular Season Game #48 – Road Game #22 TV: CSNNE, RSN, NBA-LP 749 Radio: WEEI, CJCL Air Canada Centre Referees: Bennie Adams, Brent Barnaky, Pat Fraher
The Celtics head to Toronto for the 2nd of 4 meetings with the Raptors.
Their first meeting in November resulted in a 107-89 home win for the
Celtics. The Celtics are 3rd in the Atlantic Division, 7.5 games behind
the Knicks. The Raptors are last in the division, 7.5 games behind the
Celtics.
Both teams have been off since Sunday and should be
well rested. Boston has won their last 4 games while the Raptors are
coming off a loss to the Heat. The Celtics are 4-6 in their last 10
games, having lost 6 games in a row before their recent 4 game win
streak. The Raptors are 3-7 in their last 10. The Raptors are a
decent team at home with a 12-12 record at the Air Canada Centre. The
Celtics have struggled a bit on the road with just a 7-14 record away
from the Garden.
This marks Leandro Barbosa's firs game back to
the Air Canada Center since he was traded by the Raptors in March. He
played in 100 games over 2 seasons for Toronto. The Celtics tend to let
up against the bottom teams but the the Raptors are much improved since the trade that brought in Rudy Gay and they won't be a pushover. The Celtics need to play hard and stay focused if they want to continue their win streak.

5 Things Celtics must do to win tomorrow - Raptors 2/6
Tuesday, February 5, 2013
by Jack Niemuth 6:27 PM
After Sunday's win over LA, the Celtics will travel north of the border to face the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors are a bad 17-31 and eleventh in the eastern conference. The Celtics, since Rondo went down, are an undefeated 4-0. That steak has gotten them back above the .500 mark. The Celtics are hot, the Raptors are not, but they still have to try. Here are tomorrow's five things:
5. GET COLLINS TO THE FOUL LINE:
The performance that Jason Collins put on on Sunday instantly made him a fan favorite in my book. I was surprised at how well he shot free throws, making each of his five attempts. Get him the ball inside, have him draw a foul, and you get an easy 2 points.
4. KEEP GIVING BARBOSA THE BALL:
Leandro Barbosa has really stepped up since the injury to Rondo. On Sunday, he had a great 14 points (T-2nd on team) on 5/10 shooting. If he's making his shots consistently like this, then keep giving him the ball.
3. REBOUND:
The Celtics, despite winning, were out-rebounded 41-29. This was perhaps the most lopsided stat of the night. I understand that that was the Clippers, but come on. You have to do a little better.
2. GET A BIG FIRST HALF LEAD:
If the Celtics hadn't had that 19 point half time lead on Sunday, they would've lost. In my opinion, the first half is more important than the second. It sets the momentum of the game. You have to have momentum in order to get confidence.
1. MAKE SURE PIERCE GETS THE BIG SHOTS:
If the Celtics are down by 1, have the ball, and there is under 10 seconds on the game clock, I want Pierce to shoot it. He proved with that clutch three that pressure doesn't bug him in important situations.
Tip-off for tomorrow's game will be at 7:00 pm ET. Live Game Updates will be available here.

Rookie Round-Up: Sully's Season Ends, Melo Makes Debut
by Greg Allen 8:34 AM
A week ago we were discussing the loss of the Celtics leader and all-star point guard, Rajon Rondo. Not only had the team lost their fearless leader but also managed to blow a 27 point lead in Atlanta leaving the team standing at 20-23 on the year. At that point all of the league and Celtics nation were left thinking, not much else could go wrong. This proved not to be true as the Celtics injury plague continued when news surfaced that Jared Sullinger left the game verse Miami with back spasms. Original reports listed Sully as day-to-day while both Doc Rivers and Danny Ainge insisted the injury was minor and posed no long term threat.
Once again this proved to be wrong as shockingly the Celtics team reported Sullinger's season was over as he faced season ending back surgery. Just hours after the terrible news was reported we received further news that Jared immediately underwent successful lumbar disc surgery at New England Baptist Hospital. In less than a week the Celtics had lost two of their starters and all over the news the Celtics obituary was written while trade rumors stacked up.

Both Sides Of The Truth
Monday, February 4, 2013
by The Sports Boy 5:31 PM
 |
The Captain representing the city
that fell for him. |
The story of Paul Pierce is one that's been well documented over the years, between cliche monikers or the storybook redemption he was able to attain, we've heard it all. It's been chopped up and fed to us again and again, every big game analysts read off the amazing path Pierce took to be at the grand stage he's on now. He's the "cornerstone" of the Celtics or as Kevin Garnett puts it "the original Celtic," which is absolutely true but there's a lot more to the truth, a side of the truth that might have been forgotten or unappreciated.
When the story is told on television of Pierce's life it takes a lot away from what actually happened, almost like this side of truth isn't good enough. You can't feel anything but happiness when watching because it has a fairytale feel to it and a great ending is expected. There isn't a lot of fear evoked, or sorrow, betrayal, dejection or hope for that matter. The truth carries all these reactions. In reality it's a story that should bring you from the depths of everything wretched and bring you to the ultimate peace, because for a generation of Celtics fans that's what Pierce embodies.
For 14 marvelous seasons Pierce has been everything a Celtic could want even when we might not have wanted him. With Rondo's injury, trade rumors and a future blurred with a lot of questions, Pierce's days could be numbered. The question of whether or not he deserves to retire a Celtic is brought up, and maybe because of how the truth's been told, people would be willing to part with him. Pierce has meant something special to the Celtics throughout the years and it can't be more evident then the connection he's built with an era of fans. Outsiders might not understand the special bond but if the true facts were recounted and the turbulence of the decade were recounted, maybe, just maybe, they'd understand the Truth.

The Best of Tommy - Clippers 2/3
by FLCeltsFan 11:01 AM
I love listening to Mike and Tommy. I really don't like the national TV games because I'm stuck with their announcers since CSNNE is blacked out here. I chuckle when I do the CFTOS and they talk about what a homer Tommy is. That's why I love him so much. Home games mean that Tommy's also tweeting and we get gems like this from him.
Tommy still knows his stuff. If it wasn't so much stress he should be an assistant coach. Here he's the master of understatement. Yes. Please cover Griffin. I think they heard Tommy and they did a good job of covering him overall.

Some good stuff. Hilarious that a team with Chris Paul on it complains about flops. The refs missed stuff both ways so saying they were playing 5 on 8 didn't fly. Just listen to a replay of Tommy last night saying how much he hates Eli Roe. For thinking the Celtics are terrible they sure were coveting KG and PP and Doc pretty hard. And I'm starting to think that there are a LOT of fan bases that hate their coaches. It's getting to be a regular theme. My favorites are in bold. What are yours?
I thought the Celtics would struggle a lot more without Rondo. We need to get our act together after the Canadian debacle!
They aren't struggling much because they win with their defense not offense. Rondo or not their offense is horrendous. Without CP3 our offense goes from elite to mediocre. Without Rondo the Celtics offense goes from abysmal to slightly more abysmal.
I wonder if KG will manage to get under anybodies skin this game?
Ralph says the the Clippers are bigger, faster, stronger, more athletic, faster up and down the basketball court... Sounds like a gimme

Celtics Limp By Clippers
Sunday, February 3, 2013
by The Sports Boy 4:24 PM
In typical Celtics fashion a great game was almost thrown away and the offense looked both dominate and sporadic. People in Boston were already having a terrible morning since the Patriots weren't in the Super Bowl and if the Celtics had blown a lead of over 15 points it would have really stung. The game was a tale of three quarters and the all dreaded fourth one. The reserves had 50 points leading into the last frame and managed 2 the rest of the way while the offense as a whole only scored 1 point for a stretch in the fourth quarter. I don't know if this a mental issue with players losing sight of the game or maybe the offense becoming too predictable and defenses picking up on the Celtics' options. Whatever the case, the Celtics pulled out a thriller making all the disappointment of the SuperBowl become forgotten news... or maybe just most of it.

Underrated Stat of the Night - Clippers 2/3
by Jack Niemuth 3:49 PM
The Celtics, thanks to a terrific first half, beat the Clippers 106-104 Sunday afternoon at the TD Garden. The C's led at halftime by the score of 59-40, but were on defense for the entire second half. Their lead was reduced to just 15 after the third, and they played lazy in the fourth quarter. But, a win's a win and I'll take it. They are now above .500.
Today's USOTN goes to the performance of Jason Collins. Collins is a big man who hardly ever scores, but he really contributed today. Collins had 7 points on 1/1 shooting and 5/5 free throw shooting. He has a very ugly free throw shot but they kept going in. You can never have enough scorers, so it'd be nice if he did this consistently.
Despite winning, the Celtics were out-rebounded in this one 41-29. This doesn't surprise me, as the Clippers are packed with big men. The Celtics also shot worse than L.A., as the Clippers shot 50.6% to the Celtics 50.0%. But, as I said earlier, they won and that's all that matters in the end. The Celtics are off until Wednesday when they visit the Raptors. I won't be posting until then.

Live Game Updates - Clippers @ Celtics
by Jack Niemuth 12:34 PM
12:35: Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday CG readers. Unlike most people, I'll be more interested in the NBA action today rather than the game tonight. We all know that neither the Patriots nor my Packers made it, so it's tough to get motivated. Besides, this game'll probably be more exciting anyway. The Clippers are 34-14, the Celtics are 23-23. Boston is 16-9 at home while L.A. is 14-9 on the road. In my opinion, this is the Celtics last hard game until March 6 when they visit the Pacers. Vegas oddsmakers have the Celtics listed as -1.0 favorites in this game. Enjoy it and keep checking back here after each quarter for updates.
1:38: The Celtics played terrific in the opening quarter. They tied their highest scoring first quarter all season with 33 points as they lead 33-30. Courtney Lee and Paul Pierce each have 5 points. Jason Collins has also played great with 4 points. Caron Butler and Blake Griffin lead the Clippers with 8 points each.
2:15: The Celtics played their best quarter of the season in the second quarter. Despite entering the quarter up by just 3, the Celtics out-scored the Clippers 26-10 and now lead at halftime 59-40. The Celtics are doing a great job sharing the ball as everyone who has played has scored. Jason Terry and Jeff Green lead the Celtics with 9 points each. Blake Griffin leads the Clippers with 10.
3:02: The Celtics had what was probably their worst quarter of the game in the third quarter. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't as good as the first two. In the quarter, the Clippers outscored the Celtics 37-33. The C's now lead 92-77. Paul Pierce leads the Celtics with 18. Caron Butler leads the Clippers with 18.
3:42: The Celtics have won 106-104. They played absolutely horrendous in the fourth quarter, being outscored 27-14. The play of the game definitely came with 2.5 seconds left, when the Clippers decided not to foul and forced Pierce into a very difficult three. Pierce somehow made the shot to put the Celtics up 106-101. On the other end, Jamal Crawford hit a three at the buzzer that didn't matter and you know the rest. The C's are now above .500 at 24-23. Stay here at CG, post-game and USOTN coming soon.
