Tonight's 105-103 loss to the Heat was easily the most embarrassing loss I have ever seen the Celtics suffer. With 8 minutes left to play, the Celtics had a 13-point lead and all of the momentum. With minimal effort, they could've won by 15. Instead, they acted like spoiled brats and seemed to purposely lose the game. I don't know how a professional basketball team can play that bad.
Tonight's USOTN goes to tonight's turnover differential. The Heat committed just 14 turnovers while Boston had 20. This is just another thing that costed the C's the game. With an OK performance in this category, they would've won. But God forbid they play hard.
This game was in their back pocket mid-way through the fourth quarter. But, if you don't try, how can you win? With 7 seconds left, Paul Pierce shot a highly contested three that subliminally acted as a white flag. They had plenty of time to draw up a play, but instead decided to screw around and disappoint the hordes of fans in attendance. Basically the entire fourth quarter was nothing but wasted possessions and horrible defense. Again, if you don't try, how can you win?
