I remember, way back when the Celtics had the six game win streak to get to 20-17, saying that the Celtics wouldn't lose another game until Sunday, March 10. Looking ahead at their schedule, I saw a lot of winnable games that, as you know, they didn't win. For example, the Bobcats and Lakers games. Now we have reached March 10, and the Celtics have lost four games since then. However, on the bright side, they still have won a hell of a lot more games in that time span. Today's matchup with the Thunder will be very tough, but I have hope. Here are today's 5 things:
5. GET CRAWFORD MORE OPEN THREES:
On Friday night, the Celtics would run a play where they would have someone drive into the paint, and then they would kick it out to an open shooter in the corner. Crawford made a three on one of those plays, give him more.
4. GET BRADLEY BACK ON TRACK:
Looking back on Avery's stats from Friday, he didn't do anything. He scored a mere 5 points on 2/7 shooting. It didn't hurt them then, but it will definitely hurt them today if he doesn't start playing like himself again. So far, he's been a huge part of their winning streak.
3. MUCH BETTER OFFENSIVE REBOUNDING:
In Friday's USOTN, I pointed out that the Celtics only managed to get a pathetic, 2 offensive rebounds against the Hawks. If they do that again today, I guarantee that they will have no chance at winning.
2. RUN BETTER PLAYS IN BIG SITUATIONS:
In the late stages of the fourth quarter and in all of overtime, the Celtics ran horrible offenses. They weren't helping the guy with the ball and were forced to throw up bad shots at times. This is being completely ignored because all of those bad shots went in.
1. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE SHOOTERS:
On Friday, the Celtics didn't seem to play very aggressive defense and gave up a lot of open threes. They would let up on shooters and those shooters would swish it. Durant is gonna make a ton of threes if they let him.
Tip-off for today's game will be at 1:00 pm ET. Live Game Updates will be available here.
