The Celtics have lost, again. Tonight's 92-86 loss I Portland wasn't too hard to watch, but there were times that I got frustrated. Going into this one I kinda knew that they were gonna lose, but I still had to watch the game. They went down with a fight. But tonight, things just didn't work out.
Tonight's USOTN goes to the performance of Brandon Bass. This season, Bass hasn't scored a ton, but tonight was different. Bass scored 11 points on 5/10 shooting. I don't expect this to happen a ton, but I'll still enjoy this one time. Thanks for the effort, Brandon.
Bass's 11 points was tied for third on the team. Tying with him was Green who also had 11. Besting him was KG who had 20 and Pierce who had 23. The Celtics next game will be tomorrow night in Utah. It will be the last of their current road trip.
A 1-3 road trip is not what this team needed. If we can't beat teams with a losing record on the road (LA and Portland) then what hope do we have of getting road wins in the playoffs? Given how strong Utah has been at home, we really needed the Laker and Portland games. A 1-4 road trip was not the way to build momentum towards the playoffs.
I'm hoping that once the new guys (including a yet to be named big man) learn the system more and contribute more, it will make a difference. I hope so, anyway. We need more bigs who will play inside. These long jumpers are getting on my nerves.
