Tonight we watched the Celtics do exactly what everyone expected. They won pretty easily by the score of 116-95. Pierce led the C's with a nice 24 points, while Green pitched in 19. Kevin Garnett, who scored 15 points, became the sixteenth player in NBA history to score 25,000 points with a turnaround jump shot in the first half. Congratulations to him.
Tonight's USOTN goes to the surprisingly bad performance of Leandro Barbosa. He's been pretty hot recently, but tonight just wasn't his night. In 21 minutes of play, Barbosa had 0 points on 0/6 shooting. It was disappointing, but could've been worse. It could've been in a close game.
Tonight's win put the Celtics a 1/2 game in front of the Bucks for the eastern conference's seventh seed. You may not think of this as much, but check the standings. If the season ended today, they would be playing the Knicks while the Bucks would be playing the Heat. Remember that the Knicks have virtually no playoff experience. But, there's a good chance that the Celtics won't finish seventh. If they keep playing like this, I'd expect to finish off no worse than fifth.
