The Celtics, thanks to a terrific first half, beat the Clippers 106-104 Sunday afternoon at the TD Garden. The C's led at halftime by the score of 59-40, but were on defense for the entire second half. Their lead was reduced to just 15 after the third, and they played lazy in the fourth quarter. But, a win's a win and I'll take it. They are now above .500.
Today's USOTN goes to the performance of Jason Collins. Collins is a big man who hardly ever scores, but he really contributed today. Collins had 7 points on 1/1 shooting and 5/5 free throw shooting. He has a very ugly free throw shot but they kept going in. You can never have enough scorers, so it'd be nice if he did this consistently.
Despite winning, the Celtics were out-rebounded in this one 41-29. This doesn't surprise me, as the Clippers are packed with big men. The Celtics also shot worse than L.A., as the Clippers shot 50.6% to the Celtics 50.0%. But, as I said earlier, they won and that's all that matters in the end. The Celtics are off until Wednesday when they visit the Raptors. I won't be posting until then.
