12:35: Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday CG readers. Unlike most people, I'll be more interested in the NBA action today rather than the game tonight. We all know that neither the Patriots nor my Packers made it, so it's tough to get motivated. Besides, this game'll probably be more exciting anyway. The Clippers are 34-14, the Celtics are 23-23. Boston is 16-9 at home while L.A. is 14-9 on the road. In my opinion, this is the Celtics last hard game until March 6 when they visit the Pacers. Vegas oddsmakers have the Celtics listed as -1.0 favorites in this game. Enjoy it and keep checking back here after each quarter for updates.

1:38: The Celtics played terrific in the opening quarter. They tied their highest scoring first quarter all season with 33 points as they lead 33-30. Courtney Lee and Paul Pierce each have 5 points. Jason Collins has also played great with 4 points. Caron Butler and Blake Griffin lead the Clippers with 8 points each.

2:15: The Celtics played their best quarter of the season in the second quarter. Despite entering the quarter up by just 3, the Celtics out-scored the Clippers 26-10 and now lead at halftime 59-40. The Celtics are doing a great job sharing the ball as everyone who has played has scored. Jason Terry and Jeff Green lead the Celtics with 9 points each. Blake Griffin leads the Clippers with 10.

3:02: The Celtics had what was probably their worst quarter of the game in the third quarter. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't as good as the first two. In the quarter, the Clippers outscored the Celtics 37-33. The C's now lead 92-77. Paul Pierce leads the Celtics with 18. Caron Butler leads the Clippers with 18.

3:42: The Celtics have won 106-104. They played absolutely horrendous in the fourth quarter, being outscored 27-14. The play of the game definitely came with 2.5 seconds left, when the Clippers decided not to foul and forced Pierce into a very difficult three. Pierce somehow made the shot to put the Celtics up 106-101. On the other end, Jamal Crawford hit a three at the buzzer that didn't matter and you know the rest. The C's are now above .500 at 24-23.
