14: Tonight, the Boston Celtics will travel to Phoenix to face the struggling Suns. The Suns haven't had a great year and, if the Celtics play the way they should, will probably lose again tonight. The Celtics haven't been too sharp as of late either, as they have lost their first two games back from ASW. Despite that, I still can't see the C's losing tonight. I don't think that they can play that bad.
40: The Kevin Garnett-less Celtics looked pretty good in the first quarter. The C's started out the game on a fun-to-watch 13-0 run, but the lead slowly began to fade away as the quarter progressed. Eventually, after large runs on both sides, Boston settled on a 28-20 lead after the first 12 minutes. Jeff Green, who is starting in place of Garnett, leads the team with 13 points. Courtney Lee has pitched in 5 points of his own.
08: The Celtics didn't quite play as well in the second quarter as they did in the first, but still were able to take a 53-41 lead heading into halftime. Jeff Green really slowed down his scoring pace in the second period, scoring just 2 points despite scoring 13 in the first. His total of 15 still leads the team. Chris Wilcox has had somewhat of a breakout performance tonight with 8 points, the second most on the team. In his Celtics debut, Jordan Crawford has had just 3 points.
48: The Celtics and Suns played some pretty entertaining basketball in the third quarter. Boston managed to out-score Phoenix in the period 28-26 to take an 81-67 lead heading into the fourth. Both teams have showed solid rebounding tonight, as both sides have grabbed 32 boards. Jeff Green continued to fill in nicely for KG as he rose his scoring total in the quarter to 24 points. Avery Bradley has had a solid 13.
17: The Celtics had what was possibly their best quarter of the season in the fourth. Despite the fact that the previous quarter was very competitive, the C's were able to completely dominate the Suns in the final 12 minutes. The final score: Celtics 113, Suns 88. Jeff Green easily wins the player of the game award with 31 points on 11/14 shooting. In other notable news, Jordan Crawford scored a solid 10 points tonight in his Celtics-debut. Let's hope he continues to play like that. Stay right here at CG, post game and USOTN coming soon.
