After tonight's tough-to-swallow loss in Denver, the Celtics will travel out to LA for a matchup tomorrow with the Lakers. The Lakers, as you all know, pretty much bought the championship this offseason. But despite signing stars Steve Nash and Dwight Howard, they got even worse. No matter how much ESPN screams it in your ear that the Lakers are just as good as Boston, they aren't. And that's not coming from a Celtics fan, that's coming from a human being with common sense. Here are tomorrow's five things:
5. GIVE TERRY MORE SHOTS:
Tonight in Denver, Jason Terry shot just 2/5 from the field with seven points. You might think just by looking at those numbers that he must be bad, but I guarantee you that he'd make more if he shot more.
4. GIVE LEE MORE SHOTS:
Against the Nuggets, Courtney Lee had fifteen points on six of nine shooting. It seemed like whenever he would shoot the ball, he would make it. Yet he rarely got it and Pierce is still shooting more than him. Weird.
3. GIVE GREEN PLENTY OF THREE-POINT SHOTS:
Tonight, Jeff Green continued to play well as he scored 20 points on 8/12 shooting. Many of his shots were deep twos or threes, and he made them consistently. He definitely should get more of these attempts.
2. MAKE YOUR OPEN JUMPERS:
Tonight, both teams missed plenty of open jump shots. Unfortunately, the Celtics missed more. When you have an open jumper from the free throw line, you have to make it. Otherwise it's a wasted effort.
1. DO NOT LET PIERCE SHOOT EVERY TIME HE GETS THE BALL:
Every time Paul Pierce got the ball tonight, he would immediately throw it up and miss it. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing to watch. He better either fix this or start passing the ball more.
Tip-off for tomorrow's game will be at 10:30 pm ET. Live Game Updates will be available here.
