Last night's game was another ugly matchup followed by an ugly performance. Despite a great first quarter, the Celtics managed to fall behind by nine at the half. The third quarter was basically the same, just no shots going in with little defensive resistance on the other end. The Celtics rallied in the fourth quarter, but the mountain was too tall to climb. But, there is some good from this game. I bet that if I was a Grizzlies fan, I would be nervous going into this game. If you can scare your opponent, you can beat them. Unfortunately, they only did one of those two.
Again, it was difficult to find an unappreciated stat from tonight's game, but I managed to locate one. The game's USOTN goes to Courtney Lee. Lee had a solid 8 points on 3/4 shooting. It's good to see him start to come out if his shell, but they still lost. It's just too bad.
I don't know what else to say other than that the Celtics need to at least win one game this week. After yesterday's loss, they have fallen behind the Sixers and are now ninth place in the eastern conference.
I'll say this, I don't mind if they finish the season with the 8 seed. They have proven that they are a great road playoff team and all that they would have to do would be win one road game. As long as they play like the old guys who dominate in the postseason, their seeding won't matter. It's just a reassuring thought. If there was a USOTN that I should've picked, please leave a comment. I'm out.
