Well, tonight wasn't a good night. The Celtics controlled most of the first half but slacked off in the second half and overtime. This is a frustrating loss as they seemed to outplay the Bucks most of the way. With the loss, Boston is now back to .500 at 13-13. All I can say about this is that it's still early and that this team can still turn it around.
Tonight's underrated stat of the night goes to the rare contribution of Courtney Lee. Lee rarely scores in double-digits but tonight was different. He played one of his best games of the year in a losing effort. His line reads 11 points on 5/9 shooting. Not terrific, but good.
Every year around the holidays the Celtics begin a decline. Usually, they go into New Year's with a record like 20-6 but this year they haven't played up to their potential. They usually have a good enough cushion to keep them above .500 but this year they'll have to play great just to stay where they are. Their next game, as most of you already know, is Christmas Day at noon ET. They will be visiting the Nets.
