The Celtics were at home last night and that means that Tommy was tweeting live throughout the game again. He was definitely on his game last night and at times was even more entertaining than the game. I sure do miss him when the C's are on national TV and I'm stuck with the other guys. Tommy should be declared a National Treasure. Here's the best of Tommy from last night. He started out discussing Doc's change in the starting lineup to insert the two Jasons and the challenge he has faced this season.
One thing for certain about this year's Celtics is that they have been consistently inconsistent. Here's Tommy's take on the Celtics' efforts to find some sort of consistency.
I love it when Rondo is aggressive and takes it to the basket. Tommy does too.
Tommy isn't a fan of other teams being physical and lets us know about it.
Paul Pierce was focused last night. He had a game for the ages. 40 points on 13-16 shooting, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and a block. He put the team on his back and refused to let them lose.
The officiating seemed to take a turn for the worse toward the end of the game. They made some terrible calls down the stretch including a foul called on a clean block by KG, a bogus foul on Rondo that left CJ Miles snickering, and a blocking foul called on Collins when he was clearly set outside the circle and a flagrant 1 called on Collins. Tommy noted each and every one of them, at one point saying that every time the Celtics have Zach Zarba, he makes things up.
Courtney Lee is still struggling. I'm not sure what it will take to get him on track. Doc has tried starting him, bringing him off the bench, playing with Rondo, playing with Terry, playing with Barbosa. I really hope he gets it soon. But there are rumors that Danny is actively shopping him also. Tommy said just one word, but that word showed everyone's feelings about Lee's performance so far as a Celtic. This also shows a theme of Tommy's comments as he constantly urged the Celtics to be aggressive and go to the hoop. I agree with Tommy. They are too passive sometimes.
And finally, there is just one choice for the Tommy Award: The Captain, and the Truth - Paul Pierce.
