I've always heard that a good referee is one that you don't notice. A good referee will make the right calls and go about his job without making himself the center of the game. To be honest, with the referees in the NBA, this is quite rare. From Joey "Look at Me" Crawford to Dick "The Crypt Keeper" Bavetta these refs seem to try to make themselves the center of attention.
But this is honestly something I've not seen before. In a recent Nets game, referee Courtney Kirkland tried to block Kris Humphries' free throw. Now, if anyone deserves their free throw blocked, it's Kris Humphries. But by the ref? Definitely interesting. I wonder if he got a block recorded in the official referee box score.
