The Celtics have once again recalled Kris Joseph from their D-League affiliate Red Claws. They certainly are using the new unlimited recall rules this year to their advantage. Since I haven't heard of any injuries, I'm wondering if this is part of Doc's shake up.
Personally, I like Joseph better than I do Jeff Green at this point because Green has been so inconsistent and passive. At least Joseph plays with passion at all times. Could Doc use Kris Joseph as a back up to Pierce in tonight's game to try to motivate Green even more than the reduced playing time did last game? It's a thought.
Joseph, a 6’7 forward, doesn't have Geeen's size, but he has a passion and brings energy to the game that so far we have only seen in spurts from Green. Joseph has appeared in 7 games for the Red Claws this season and is averaging 20.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.0 steals in 38.1 minutes per game. Joseph is currently ranked 5th in the NBA Development League in points per game.
The Red Claws have a pair of home games this weekend and will miss their second leading scorer (behind Micah Downs) if Joseph remains with the Celtics through the weekend.
Hmmmm. Interesting point. Joseph playing with passion and energy might just be a wake-up call for Jeff, and a spark for the team. Mired in the doldrums, this squad could use some shots across the bow. Defense and rebounding are heavily dependent upon effort and attention to detail.
