Celtics Recall Fab Melo from the Red Claws

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have recalled center Fab Melo from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.

This is an interesting move, considering that Fab didn't play in the two games this weekend for the Red Claws because of a strained quadriceps. Fab is averaging 6.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks over 23.4 minutes in 5 games with the Red Claws this season.

The Celtics aren't practicing as a team today but will resume practice tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if Fab is sent back down after Wednesday's game vs the Mavericks. Friday the Celtics will begin a 3 day road trip through Texas and Chicago.

I haven't seen anything about any of the bigs being sick or injured. It's an interesting move, expecially since Melo has been out with an injury for the past 2 games.
