The Celtics dropped the first of their back to back home and home series with the Sixers 95-94. They had had a chance to win it in regulation but Rondo missed a shot at the buzzer. They then had a chance to win it at the buzzer in overtime and, once again Rondo missed the potential game winner at the buzzer. Instead, Evan Turner's shot with 3.9 seconds to go that put the Sixers up one was the game winner for the home team.

In spite of missing both game winners, Rondo had a big game. He finished with a triple double of 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists to go with 3 steals and 3 blocked shots in 45 minutes. Jason Terry, Rondo's back court mate struggled the entire game shooting just 1-12 from the field to go with 3 rebounds and 1 assist in 44 minutes.



Paul Pierce was inconsistent, shooting just 9-24 from the field for 27 points. He was just 1-8 from beyond the arc. He also had 4 rebounds and 5 assists and 4 turnovers. Bass played just 23 minutes scoring just 2 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Doc kept KG to 34 minutes and he was his usual efficient self, scoring 17 points on 7-11 shooting to go with 10 rebounds and 2 assists.

Jeff Green had another nice night, scoring 19 points on 6-12 shooting to go with 8 rebounds. The rest of the bench combined contributed 5 points 9 rebounds. Barbosa, Collins and Joseph did not play in the game.

The Celtics gathered 53 rebounds to 54 for the Sixers, although they had 10 fewer on the offensive end. The Celtics shot 43% from the field held the Sixers to 37%. The Sixers were more aggressive going to the hoop and scored 8 more points in the paint than the Celtics. The key stat of the night was the 18 turnovers for the Celtics that led to 21 points for the Sixers, who committed just 9 turnovers which led to just 9 points for the Celtics.

These two teams meet again on Saturday night in Boston. Both teams had starters play more than 40 minutes which may be a factor in their second meeting. Hopefully the Celtics will be ready to avenge this loss.
