Consistency is something the Celtics have finally found, that is if being consistently inconsistent counts. Watching the Celtics' quarters are almost like following two different movies at the exact same time which can be extremely frustrating, especially when they start out playing so well. The defense was smothering the Bucks and it seemed like we had gained control of the game. No lead is safe with this team though as the Bucks were able to crawl back from a 17 point deficit and make it a ball game at the half. The players seemed to have responded well to the back to back at first and were continuing the great play from last night but the reserves couldn't keep the lead.

After I told him the Celtics would put together two consistent quarters of good basketball |
Jeff Green put together another solid performance, 18 on the night, to follow up his 19 point outburst last night. Him playing well was probably the most important thing because once he's able to find his groove and niche then the Celtics will become an even more daunting team. He was aggressive in attacking the rim while staying active in other facets of the game. The offense as a whole played with a balance and effectiveness shown through five Celtics reaching double figure scoring.
Jason Terry also put together another great outing while he had Brian Scalabrine, a color commentator and former Celtic, proclaiming that " he can't even see the defense out there" on multiple occasions. Though he missed the potential game tying shot at the end he's taken strides in finding his shots and knocking them down. He displayed another aspect of his game with his passing as he routinely found guys cutting or running out for easy baskets. He finished the game off with 11 assists which is something the Celtics will take, especially if Rondo's out. His backcourt mate displayed a groove he seems to be finding with another night of Celtic-like basketball. Lee shot the ball effectively but seemed to cool off late, something that can be what he looks towards improving for future games.
Though the team put together a solid outing it's still a little worrisome that they aren't able to put a team away when they clearly have the momentum and control of the game. Good teams win games but the championship teams are able to dominate and control them. It was a back to back though and the team was able to show flashes of the potential they have which is encouraging. Scal said it best "this was a game the Celtics deserved to win"they gave away a huge lead but played a type of defense they can build on. The rebounding also has been improving with the team grabbing 43 boards, 11 being offensive.
With Rondo coming back for the next game it's imperative that players like Lee and Green continue this type of play so the team's overall makeup starts to look like what we envisioned when they were put together.
Quote of The Night: Mike Gorman on a rare feat the Celtics accomplished " This team put together their best statistical quarter of defense in the first then followed it with their worst in the second by giving up 32 points." Celtics basketball everybody.
