I love Tommy. In the post game recap, I mentioned that Tommy's rant when he was sticking up for Rondo was the best part of the night's coverage. CSNNE were kind enough to provide it. Considering the fact that Tommy has 10 rings as both a coach and a player and he really deserves a lot of credit for winning as a coach because he had to create a whole new system at the time to win. In case you missed it, here is the article I wrote about Tommy's true genius.

I love that Tommy is so strongly defending Rondo and the fact that this streak is important to him. Gary Tanguay and Donny Marshall both defended the fact that Rondo is setting the record by being unselfish and wanting other people to do well. Tommy has a message for all those who are criticizing Rondo - Go Home! Have I mentioned that I love Tommy?

that is great. He is a lot more emphatic than when I met him. He didn't seem to impressed then that he was 1/3 responsible for my celtic fanhood in 1974. His passion along with that #18 guy.

We know how Tommy Heinsohn feels about Rajon Rondo and his assist streak. In short, he's a big fan of it.

Bob Ryan? Not so much. In fact, he wants it to end as soon as possible.

"It's a contrivance," Ryan said on CSNNE's Sports Tonight. "All these kind of streaks are all contrivances and they take on a life of their own to the detriment of the player and the team in the long run. And you can be such a thing as a selfish assist guy, and this guy, you ask why he was open on those drives? Because they thought he was going to pass the ball. It can't end soon enough for me."

stockton and magic weren't particularly selfish.

I'm going with tommy on this one.

Rondo is already up there with cousy as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, it's going to take a couple more rings to put him up there with Cousy.

Cousy had Russ. Rondo has KG. As much as I love KG, Cousy has that one.

I'm with Tommy too. I can see why chasing a scoring title might be a bit selfish because the stat is all about you. But chasing an assist title makes it all about everyone else. In order for Rondo to do well, his teammates have to do the scoring and have to do better. It's like the anti selfish stat.

I love Tommy. I know a lot of opposing fans don't like him but most have no idea that he's got 10 rings and knows more about basketball than they ever knew.

That 1969 championship team was responsible for my fanhood. So much heart.
