Rookie Report Update: Melo & Joseph headed North

On Wednesday, the Boston Celtics officially declared both Fab Melo and Kris Joseph would head north to the team's new D-League affliate, The Maine Red Claws. The news was first reported by Celtics PR department, read the full report here.

This move was anticipated by most analysts and fans. The intention is to get Kris and Fab some much needed playing time at the NBA level. This is a luxury that the Celtics did not have in past seasons as the Red Claws was a program shared by numerous teams. By claiming the Red Claws as our affilate we can now utilize the same coaching sets and strategies to prepare players for advancement into the NBA.

A welcome development. Fortunately they are NOT being pressed into service due to injuries. Time, play, Celtics' sets, on top of exposure to the Green culture and seven games observing with the big dogs--what's not to like?

Agreed Lee. I think gong to Maine will do a lot of good especially since the Celtics now control bball operations there.
