Jared Sullinger hasn't gotten much respect from the refs and in fact, he has been a foul magnet. Seems like sometimes the poor kid gets fouls for looking at someone. But against the Nets, Jared was given the benefit of the doubt. That's because he was matched up with a serial flopper.
Reggie Evans is such a known flopper that he was featured in the video that the NBA sent to the media explaining the new flopping rules. He's back at it again this season but this time, to their credit, the refs didn't fall for it.
Evans and Sully got tangled up underneath the basket going for a rebound. Evans then flailed his arms and fell on his back. The refs whistled a foul but surprisingly, the foul wasn't on Sully. I'm pretty hard on the refs when they screw up, but this time they got it right. The foul was called on Evans as he lay there flopping like a fish. Good job by the refs in the game. Now, if the league doesn't issue him a warning for this flop, the new rules have no credibility. (H/T ESPN)
