The Celtics have officially waived Darko Milicic. He has been contemplating leaving the team to return to Serbia to be with his ill mother and the move was made official today. Here is Danny's statement on his release,

"Darko has asked us to release him so he could deal with a personal matter. The whole Celtics family wishes Darko and his family well."

Doc had previously said that Darko had his blessing to do whatever he felt he needed to. I had high hopes when the Celtics first signed him and he played so well in preseason. The Celtics now have an open roster spot, but Doc has said that they won't be in a hurry to sign a player to fill it and may just wait until later in the season until the waiver or trade deadlines.
