Rondo mentioned on media day that his best friend on the team was KG. Today, KG sat down with
CSNNE and shared some feelings about "Shorty." He talks about how smart Rondo is and that he feels for Doc having to coach him. He also feels that Rondo's potential on the court is limitless. The above video gives more of his thoughts on their relationship.
Jason Terry and Paul Pierce put on an impromptu 3-point shooting contest after practice on Sunday. Both players fancy themselves as clutch shooters and so it's only natural that they should go head to head in a contest. Joining them in the contest was rookie Dionte Christmas, who matched the veterans shot for shot. Terry won this contest but I'm sure there's going to be a rematch.
Word from the reporters who cover the Celtics is that Rondo is completely different with the media this season. He has been accessible and has given thoughtful answers to questions rather than the one word answers that he has been known to give in the past. He is definitely showing that he is the leader of the team off the court as well as on it.
After the first day of camp, Paul Pierce tweeted that this team is going to be scary good. Today Rondo expressed the same optimism when he had this to say:
"This is the best team we’ve had since I’ve been here, I think, as far as on paper, as far as the depth of talent," Rajon Rondo said. "We’ve got to make something of it."
He feels that this team is even more talented than the 2008 championship team. But, he adds that the key to that team was that everyone bought into the system. The players on this team seem ready and willing to buy into the system as well.
In case you were wondering if Jeff Green was able to stay in shape after having surgery last year, wonder no more.
