The Mavericks have announced that they have suspended Delonte West for the second time in two weeks. The first time he was suspended, they lifted the suspension the next day. It appeared that the conflict had been settled and things were going smooth for both Delonte and the team.
Now comes the news that they have suspended him once again.
"We have suspended Delonte for conduct detrimental to the team," president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said in a statement. "The suspension is effective immediately and no other statements will be issued."
ESPN Dallas reached Delonte and got his side of the situation.
West said he was being blamed for an argument between teammates after the Mavs' 88-76 exhibition loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night in Wichita, Kan. He said he got a text Thursday morning telling him not to come to the American Airlines Center for practice.
"There was an argument between two teammates in the locker room last night that didn't involve me," said West, who had two points, one assist and three turnovers in 21 minutes against the Thunder. "Somehow I'm being blamed for it. I had nothing to do with it. I don't know what's going on."
Delonte also tried to explain his side of things
on Twitter.

Kind of makes me want to cry too, or reach out and hug him or something. Delonte is a favorite of mine and I have rooted for him ever since he was traded from the Celtics. I hope they get things straightened out and he can get back to doing what he does best, and that is playing tough gritty basketball. I'm not the only one who feels this way. The Celtics still care about him too and express their concern in
this CSNNE article.
