Celtics Pare the Roster Down to 15

As was expected since they were brought into training camp, the Celtics waived Rob Kurz and Micah Downs. Downs was impressive in spurts in a couple of preseason games. He averaged 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 8.9 minutes per game over 7 games. Kurz averaged 1.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per game over 6 games. It was a numbers game right from the beginning and either of them making the team was a very long longshot.

The roster is now at 15 players and should stay there at least for the first half of the season.
