In the above video we find out that there were a couple of fiery exchanges at the end of a very good practice today. That tells me that they are really competing in practice and that it will be a relief when they finally get a chance to play against another team. We also learn that Jeff Green is playing very well and gives the team a lot of versatility. The point guard for the Turkish team they play on Friday is supposed to be one of the best in Europe and so it should be a great match-up.
Some good news on the injury front. Avery Bradley is ahead of schedule on his recovery and was able to put shots up today for the first time since his surgery. He said he's feeling great and has no pain after his workout today. He's confident that he'll be able to return early.
Darko took a hard hit and fall in practice today. He eventually walked off the court on his own and wasn't expected to return to practice. But he did eventually return to practice and was fine, which is a good thing. In other injury news, Chris Wilcox sat out of practice after taking a hard hit in practice yesterday. Word is that it was a back strain and nothing to do with the heart surgery that kept him out of much of last season.
CSNNE reported today that he thought of going elsewhere when he didn't know what would happen with the Celtics this off season and he wasn't ready for a rebuilding project. Since the start of camp, he's been talking about retiring with KG and also he's talking about wanting to stay with the Celtics after his playing career.
"I was telling somebody the other day I'm pretty much institutionalized [in Boston]," Pierce said. "If I went somewhere else I couldn't see it. Hopefully I can be here a lot longer than even my playing days. Just to help along with coaching and management, I've really given some thought to that, giving back to what the game has given to me. And I hope I can continue to do that in Boston."
Yep. Darko is huge. Every time you see him with the rest of the team he just stands out as being BIG!! He ought to have his own one of those BIG commercials from the NBA last season.
