It was so good to see some tweets on the Celtics today. The season is getting closer and it's exciting to see Celtics in town and reporters talking about it. First up was a picture of the parquet floor being shipped out to be refinished for the start of the season. Hopefully they get it back all shiny and new in time for the season.
And the morning started out with Dionte Christmas tweeting this
And then came the wonderful and most welcome tweets from the Boston media that we have been missing! First up, Greg Payne.
And Chris Forsberg resurfaced with some good stuff as well.
Jeff Green hounded by third grade defenders. One accused him of having "no handles."
A couple of thoughts on all of this wonderful goings on.
It's great to hear that they young guys are building chemistry ahead of going into camp. Chemistry is so important. Great talent won't go far if they can't play well together.
Good to hear Jeff Green reiterate that he is working on being more aggressive and rebounding this season. If there were two things the Celtics needed last season, it was more aggressiveness and rebounding. Had to laugh about a kid telling him he had no handles though. He may want to work on that.
Poor Fab. First we get Courtney Lee bragging about dunking on him and even posting a video of it. Now, Kris Joseph is bragging on dunking on him. Let's hope he gets that all out of his system before camp. IT might be a looooong season if Fab makes a habit of getting dunked on.
And finally, the Red Claws posted that they will be having tryouts next week and also posted
a PDF schedule for their games. Remember that the Celtics have taken over the operation of the Red Claws and will be involved in the day to day running of the club. They will be running the Celtics system (or close to it) so that players being sent there will be practicing and running the same stuff as the parent company. And players can be sent down and called up at will this season instead of being limited to just 3 times as they were in the past. All of this is going to make the Red Claws a very important tool for the Celtics to use to develop their young players.
