The Celtics begin their Vegas Summer League games today at 4:00 PM ET vs the Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics are coming off of an impressive 4-1 showing in Orlando and will look to improve on that success with games against the Hawks, Bulls, Bucks, and the Clippers. There are 17 other teams playing in Vegas that the Celtics won't face including the Hornets, Heat, Knicks and Lakers. Austin Rivers will have to wait for his first competition vs his Dad's Celtics.
The Celtics 5 games will be televised, as follows:
Monday, July 16 vs ATL 4:00 PM ET NBA-TV
Wednesday, July 18 vs CHI at 12:00 PM ET NBA-TV
Thursday, July 19 vs SAC at 6:30 PM ET CSNNE
Friday, July 20 vs SAC at 3:00 AM ET NBA-TV
Saturday, July 21 vs MIL at 10:30 PM ET NBA-TV
Sunday, July 22 vs LAC at 6:00 PM ET NBA-TV and CSNNE
It's nice to see that CSNNE will be televising 2 of the games. I hope we get to see Mike and Tommy. I sure miss those two. It will also help me avoid getting up at 2:00 AM to watch the Sacramento game. The games will probably be replayed next week as there are games on the schedule but the teams aren't up on the schedule yet.
For those who have been impressed with the play of Dionte Christmas in the Orlando Summer League, you will be happy to find out that Christmas will remain with the Celtics in Vegas. He was originally scheduled to play with Houston, but he played so well with the Celtics that he has decided to stick with them, hoping to earn a training camp invite.
Players to watch in these games start with E'Twaun Moore and Sean Williams both of whom are playing for contracts. The Celtics must decide whether to guarantee their contracts for the season on the last day of Vegas Summer League. Also keep an eye on Kris Joseph and Dionte Christmas, both of whom impressed in Orlando and are hoping to continue their strong play in Vegas.
