Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston, who is one of the best out there for Celtics news, has more details on the Dooling signing.
The Celtics owned Dooling's rights, but will re-sign him at a one-year, minimum deal. Dooling, who will earn $1.35 million (of which the Celtics are responsible for only $854,389) is taking a pay cut (he made $2.2 million last season), but clearly enjoyed his time in Boston and wants to be part of another title quest.
Again, the value of Keyon Dooling can not be underestimated for his locker room presence and his ability to continue to mentor Rajon Rondo. Chris also reminds us of his ML Carr level of support on the sidelines when he and fellow reserve Marquis Daniels started the Flexing craze where the players on the sidelines enthusiastically pumped their fists to celebrate their teammates play on the court.
Keyon wasn't near as vocal as Pietrus about wanting to come back but his actions, in signing for the vet minimum speak louder than words. Welcome back Keyon!!!
