Comments from the Other Side - Bucks 3/6
Monday, March 7, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 10:58 AM

You have to feel for the Bucks fans. They seem to have lost all hope in their team stemming from having no faith in the owners or GM. I have to say I know how they feel after going through the Pitino and "Thanks Dad" Gaston years with the Celtics. There is the obligatory KG hate that every team seems to have these days. I think my favorite was the comment about Mike Brown being surprised that players were moving... good stuff! Enjoy...
I am actually looking forward to this game. If we win it inches us closer to the playoffs while giving us a preview of our likely first round matchup.
I would love to make the playoffs if it meant Bogut clocking KG right in his bald ass head.
It would be exciting to see that for the Bucks if watching kids getting beaten to death withbaseball bats is your thing.
Championship run continues tonight, 2014 championship that is, loss.
I think I hate KG more than I hate Lebron somehow.
KG is a thug. He literally pushes opponents into his teammates to get fouls called on them.
Cant wait to get blown out on national televison
Haven't seen BJ pass like this in many moons.
Anybody here doubting that we can beat Boston in a 7 game series? They have nothing inside. They are a very beatable team.
The Bucks couldn't beat Cleveland in a 7 game series.
As much as I would love a series from Boston, no way the refs let us win one. KG and Bogut will get in a fight and Bogut would get suspended for 2 years.
Jeff Green's value is going to plummet at Boston.
I never understood why people liked Jeff Green so much

Celtics Look for Chemistry on the Road as They Take on Bucks
Sunday, March 6, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 2:58 PM
 at
Boston Celtics (45-15) at Milwaukee Bucks (23-37)
Sunday, March 6
9:00 PM ET
Regular Season Game #61, Road Game #29
TV: ESPN, CSN-NE, NBAC
Radio: WEEI, WTMJ
Bradley Center Referees: Mike Callahan, Mark Lindsay, Leon Wood This is the second meeting between these two teams. In their first game, the Celtics came away with a 105-102 victory. The Celtics are a significantly different team than the one that the Bucks faced back in November. Both of these teams are plagued by injuries but along with the injuries, the Celtics have 5 new players to work into their team chemistry.
In spite of their record, the Bucks can be a tough team to beat if they are taken for granted. The Bucks are 3rd in the league in points allowed and so their defense can cause problems for teams. But, with 2 of their starting bigs out with injuries, they have struggled somewhat.
The Celtics have won 4 of the last 7 and 9 of the last 12 meetings between these two teams. The Celtics are 7-3 in their last 10 games while the Bucks are just 3-7 in their last 10 games. The Celtics are 18-10 on the road. The Bucks are 15-15 at home.
Sunday is Shaq's 39th birthday but he won't be celebrating it on the court as he is still at least a couple of games away from a return to active duty. Delonte will also miss this game but is eyeing Wednesday for his return.
Carlos Arroyo is expected to be available for this game and with his arrival, the Celtics now have 5 new players on their roster to try to bring up to speed on the team's system. The starters will need to build a lead as they have in the past few games because the second unit will be entirely made up of players that are new to the team and to each other along with Avery Bradley. The Celtics only center is Nenad Krstic as Chris Johnson was released to make room for Arroyo and Big Baby, Shaq, and JO are still sidelined with various injuries.
If the Celtics were healthy and the new players were familiar with the system, this would be an easy game. But with all the injuries on the Celtics and all the new players still trying to find their way in the system on both ends of the court, this will be far from an easy game. The Celtics must play with focus and play aggressively and with energy and if they do, they should come away with the win.

Comments from the Other Side - Warriors 3/4
Saturday, March 5, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 10:50 AM

And now we have the Comments from the Warriors fans. There was a comment the other day about how everybody loves Ray even though they hate the rest of the team. The Warriors may be the exception after his comments in the huddle that this team doesn't belong on the same floor as the Celtic! And, that brings me to my favorite comment: "What do you expect from a man whose mom comes to see him every day at work!?" I love it!
We better go in there and **** all over the Celtics... I hate them.
They say he should be out a week. That puts at an advantage at the Center spot. We "should" out-rebound them this game. Monta "should" have an easier time getting to the hole on his drives due to Perkins not clogging up the lane like last game. This "should" in turn create more space for Curry shooting an outside shot. Keyword "should"...but we all know how that goes for the Dubs
Remember...we don't belong on the same court with these guys...maybe the players heard that and will respond...these are the kinds of games we need to win
I predict we'll be up by 1 at halftime and lose by 30.
+10 points for Ekpe if he karate chops KG in the throat.

Celtics Host Warriors Looking for 4th Straight Win
Friday, March 4, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 2:17 PM
 vs
Golden State Warriors (27-33) at Boston Celtics (44-15)
Friday, March 4
7:30 PM ET
Regular Season Game #60, Home game #32
TV: CSN-NE, CSN-BA, NBA-LP 754/755
Radio: WEEI, KTCT
TD Garden Referees: Marc Davis, David Guthrie, Marat Kogut
The Celtics played this team just a couple of weeks ago and much has happened in that short time span. Delonte West made his return from his wrist injury in that game but is now out again with an ankle injury. It was that game that Perk injured his MCL and now Perk is a member of the Thunder. The Celtics have 5 new players on their roster and are trying to find chemistry on the run.
In the first game between these two teams, the Warriors got out to a fast start, but after having a lead early, the game was tied at 60 at the half. The Celtics clamped down on defense and made a run in the 3rd quarter to put the game away. The Celtics beasted on the boards in that game but they had Perk (for 3 quarters), KG, Semih, Big Baby, and Luke all grabbing rebounds. Of that quintet, only KG will be playing in this game and we can only hope that a still learning Green and Krstic, a rusty Murphy, and Chris Johnson along with KG can get it done in this one.
A factor in the Celtics win was the play of Glen Davis. Warriors big man Ekpe Udoh was schooled by Big Baby. Davis had 12 points and 10 rebounds while simply overpowering Udoh. We may see some Jeff Green playing the 4 off the bench in this one along with Murphy filling in at the 5. It's a lot to ask of players who are still learning the system but hopefully they will come through and help the Celtics pull out the win.
The Celtics are 7-3 in their last 10 games and are going for their 4th straight win. The loss to the Celtics began a 4 game losing streak for the Warriors, but they were able to snap that streak when they beat the Wizards on Wednesday night. The Warriors are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Celtics are 26-5 at home while the Warriors are 8-20 on the road.
Even though the Warriors have a sub .500 record, they are a tough team. They are a good fast break team and can put points up in a hurry. They also can disrupt an opponent's offense by getting in the passing lanes and forcing turnovers. In the first meeting between these two teams, the Celtics committed 18 turnovers, which the Warriors turned into 23 points. Defense is going to be a key in this game. Hopefully all of the new guys paid close attention in Thursday's practice and will be know somewhat where they need to be on D in order to get stops. With all the new faces and injuries, the Celtics are going to need a lot of heart to win this one.

Comments from the Other Side - Suns 3/2
Thursday, March 3, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 10:55 AM

I don't think I've ever seen fans wish terrible harm on players as much as these guys do. I mean they were even wishing a season ending injury on their own player. Now that's bad! At least they can't call the Celtics old because their best 2 players are just as old or older than the Celtics! I love how they call Rondo overrated and then talk the rest of the game about how good he is and how he is dominating their team. And maybe Rondo was a little classless in shooting that 3 at the end, but so were they when they went in for a layup after Pierce dribbled out the 24 second clock and the Celtics had basically stopped playing. And the refs let a lot go both ways. I wouldn't call them terrible because they were pretty consistent in ignoring stuff on both teams. Anyway there's a lot of good stuff in today's Comments. What's your favorite?
This is going to be a tough game for us. Our guys are tired and we are facing the best team in the East.
Paul pierce makes manu ginobli look average in flopping.. Grant has to play smart..pierce has been getting 50% of all his points from the free throw line.
Pierce has the best pump fake in the game, no contest.
We have won the last three games against the Celts, tonight we will make it four in a row !!
Most of u sound like cetics fans... They got worse with the trade... And whats crazy is all u have doubt in the suns....... THEY ARE GOING TO WIN.... GO SUNS
Be prepared to be angry. Getting any kind of decent calls in the Garden is nearly impossible
I agree. In the Garden, unless you bring your cell phone you're not likely to get any calls at all.

Celtics Finally Home to Take on Suns
Wednesday, March 2, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 11:39 AM
 at
Phoenix Suns (31-27) at Boston Celtics (43-15)
Wednesday, March 2
7:30 PM ET
Regular Season Game #59, Home Game #31
TV: CSN-NE, TheScore, KUTP, NBA-LP 757
Radio: WEEI, KTAR
TD Garden
Referees: Tom Washington, Brian Forte, Eric Lewis
The Celtics are home after a successful but difficult road trip. They went 3-1 on the trip with the only loss an undermanned game in Denver after learning their teammates had been traded. This will be the home crowd's first look at Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic and possibly Troy Murphy as well.
The Suns have won 3 straight games vs the Celtics which is the longest active win streak against them by one opponent. They are 4-3 against the Celtics in the Big 3 era, joining the Orlando Magic as the only teams with winning records against them since 2007.
The Celtics lost the first game this season in Phoenix. It was the second of a back to back set and they didn't get into their hotel until 4:30 in the morning that day. Both teams had Tuesday off and both are coming off a win on Monday.
While there isn't an actual rivalry between 'these two teams they will forever be linked by Game 5 of the 1976 Finals when Boston won a very memorable 3 overtime game in Boston 128-126. It was an instant classic and will always come up in conversations on the best playoff games ever.
The Celtics are still trying to work in the new players and come to grips with the loss of their teammates. They are back home now and that should make it a little easier. The first game home after a road trip is always tough, though. The Celtics should be looking to avenge their earlier loss to the Suns and hopefully that extra motivation along with the home crowd boost should help the Celtics come out on top in this one.

Comments From the Other Side - Jazz 2/28
Tuesday, March 1, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 2:11 PM

Just like with every game, there was the usual wheelchair reference, the complaints about so many Celtics fans in the building, and the Celtics are too old to run with us comments. And for a team that took 12 more free throws than the Celtics, they sure did complain a lot about the refs. The refs were just bad last night. I could have pointed out an equal number of bad/no calls against the Celtics. It was bad both ways. Most of the chat from Jazz fans was about their own new players making their home debut. They are really liking the exchange of Williams for Harris and Favors. I can't blame them. Enjoy today's Comments from the Other Side....
Easy win for the Jazz.
This will be our sixth home loss in a row. I expect us to play it close for 2 1/2 quarters then get blown out
I've seen both Celtics games since the trade--- they haven't been great. Hopefully we can pounce on them early and get this one.
A Celtics team that "haven't been great" of late is still 100X better than our "will simply suck for the rest of the season" Jazz team.
