Comments From the Other Side - Bobcats 1/14
by FLCeltsFan 12:00 PM

Bobcats fans are a fun group and seem to have a lot of fun in their threads. I think my favorite thing was the cheerleader picture. That had me laughing out loud when I saw it. Of course there is the Tommy hate and the fans who hate Pierce and Ray for torching them but I found their fans to be a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy this edition of Comments from the Other Side as much as I have....
Hurry up and start the game before someone gets traded!
This just in Jordan just traded our entire team for the girl squad that was just on the court and a box of thin mints
Could be a fun match up to watch. Neither guy is say Elite. Shaq past his prime and Kwame well being Kwame but both are two of the bigger bodys in the leauge. They don’t make Centers like they used too
I left Boston 30 years ago and the Celtics have turned into dirty-playing, whining, bitches since then. I would LOVE to see our underdog, undercredited, and unnoticed Bobcats take ’em down!
This is personal. We’ve been on the receiving end of too many ass-whoopins from these guys.
Awesome...the old man who is interviewing Doc Rivers keeps referring to us as the Charlotte Hornets Good to see he keeps up with the times.

Streaking Bobcats Visit Injury Plagued Celtics
by FLCeltsFan 12:31 PM
 at
Charlotte Bobcats (15-21) at Boston Celtics (29-9)
Friday, January 14
7:30 PM ET
Regular Season Game #39 Home Game #21
TV: CSN-NE, SSO-CHA, NBA-LP 756
Radio: WEEI, WPNZ
TD Garden Referees: Derrick Stafford, Kane Fitzgerald, David Jones
This is the second meeting between these two teams. The Celtics dominated the first game, winning 93-62. But the Celtics shouldn't expect it to be as easy this time around. The Bobcats were struggling under Larry Brown but since Paul Silas took over, they have been off and running.
The Bobcats had lost 6 of 8 games before the coaching change and since that time they have won 6 of their last 8. They have a 4 game win streak and are coming off a 96-91 win over the Bulls. They are averaging 101 points per game during that streak and have cut their turnovers almost 4 per game over that time as well.
The Celtics bounced back with some inspired play against the Kings after lackluster performances in their previous 2 games. The Celtics can't afford to take the Bobcats for granted or they will get burned. Under Silas they are playing very well and they will use their athleticism to their advantage.
The Celtics are close to getting healthier but they may be very thin up front for this game. As of Thursday's practice, Doc was still ruling KG out for this one, even though he participated in half of practice. Jermaine O'Neal had another MRI and is considering surgery. And to make things worse, Semih Erden, who played very well against the Kings, sat out practice with a groin injury and is questionable for this one. If KG and Semih can't go, it will be up to Shaq, Big Baby and Luke Harangody to man the middle. We will see a lot of small ball out of necessity.
Both teams are 6-4 in their last 10 games. The Celtics are 17-3 at home while the Bobcats are 4-12 on the road. The Bobcats are looking for their 5th straight win while the Celtics are hoping to win their second straight game. With all their injuries, the Celtics will need to play hard and stay focused to have a chance at winning this one. Read more »

Comments From the Other Side - Kings 1/12
Thursday, January 13, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 9:06 AM

I have to say, in spite of their record, the Kings have some great fans. You can always depend on a few things coming up in every game thread... The Celtics being old geezers, Tommy being biased and Rondo being hated or loved. I love the sarcasm from some of these fans. Good stuff today! Enjoy this edition of Comments from the Other Side....
Wow. 30 minutes to tip off and still no game thread. Tyreke is out. Pooh starting for him. Luckily, doesn't look like KG is suiting up for this one.
I want to see Pooh vs Nate! Midget ball!!
This could be lakers/cavs ugly.
Nothing is that ugly!!
This is gonna be an all out slaughter. Hope we can break 60 points.
We will. We're not Cleveland.
Go Kings! Let's not lose by 55 points.
Alright Kings, let's put these geezers to bed early.

Celtics Host Kings and Hope to Get Back on Track
by FLCeltsFan 10:55 AM

Sacramento Kings (8-27) at Boston Celtics (28-9)
Wednesday, January 12
7:30 PM ET
Regular Season Game #38, Home Game #20
TV: CSN-NE, , CSN-CA, NBA LP 755/756
Radio: WEEI, KHTK
TD Garden Referees: Bob Delaney, Curtis Blair, Derrick Collins
The Celtics welcome the Kings to the Garden in the 2nd of a 6 game home stand. The first game didn't go very well as the Celtics put out very little effort in a loss to the short handed Rockets.
It has been exactly 2 weeks since Kevin Garnett went out with a calf injury. The Celtics gave a 2 week time table for his return but reports are that he didn't practice yesterday and is doubtful for this one. The Celtics should be able to handle the Kings easily without KG and it would make sense to rest him one more game. But then again, they should have been able to handle the Rockets without KG too. If the Celtics do decide to rest him one more game and we don't see The Big Ticket in this one, cue the panic in Celtics Nation about his injury being more serious than the Celtics are letting on.
Last season, the Celtics won the series 2‐0. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with an average of 19.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game…Kevin Garnett averaged 13.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in the two contests. Carl Landry scored 30 points in his only game for the Kings against Boston last season. Beno Udrih averaged 12.5 points and 7.0 assists to go along with 2.5 steals per game.
The Celtics still have a very good home record of 16-3 in spite of their last loss there while the Kings have been very bad on the road with a 2-12 record away from home. The Celtics have dropped to 5-5 in their last 10 games, prompting a lot of comparisons to the play we saw from them after Christmas last season. The Kings are just 3-7 in their last 10 games. The Kings are playing in the second of back to back games, having lost a 138-133 game that featured very little defense to the Wizards on Tuesday night.
Whether the last two losses were the result of taking the opponent for granted and playing down to the competition, or they are missing KG and the injuries are catching up to them, or they are just tired from a tough stretch of games, the Celtics must put out a better effort, especially on the defensive end, or they risk losing another game that they should win. Comments From the Other Side - Rockets 1/10
by FLCeltsFan 8:31 AM

For the second game in a row, an inferior team came in and beat a Celtics team that seemed to take the game lightly. The Rockets definitely played harder and wanted it more. And we can't use KG, Perk and Delonte being out as an excuse. They didn't have Kevin Martin, Yao Ming or Brad Miller. Very disappointing effort from the Celtics at home.
They beat us at every position...6 Game losing streak here we come..
More ping pong balls
Von Wafer goes for double figures, and ices the game with a cold-blooded 3 from the corner.
We're winning this one.
Let's play Scola, Martin, and Lowry each 40+ minutes for this game. I'd rather see a close loss than a blowout.
I think we can beat them. I'm never going to doubt these rockets (xcept battier)
Why do u fellas say we won't win this? We're winning this one folks!!
We are good when we play in Boston. We would probably go 41-0 if our homecourt was the T.D. Banknorth Garden.
Our road record of 6-14 is pathetic Even though they are plagued by injures just like us, they have a championship attitude. We don't have that mental toughness when the going gets tough.
With Garnett, I would say no, but I think there's a chance since he's not around. Really, Rondo's the only guy that concerns me on that team, and I think we can win.
I hope we win since they only starting 4 all stars after KG went down
We are up 20 points in 4th quarter with 6:40 (ish,scola...), then Rick injects his usual WTF substitution and we get blown out the game.
I think having so many players out is good for Rick; he wont have so mnay players to think about.
If Shaq is playing then Hill will probably hurt himself trying to guard him.
Shaq is going to eat someone....
Sometime during this game Shaq will fall on top of Hill And we’ll call it a career for Hill.

Celtics Host Rockets as the Begin Home Stand
Monday, January 10, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 11:49 AM
 at
Houston Rockets (16-21) at Boston Celtics (28-8)
Monday, January 10
7:30 PM ET
Regular Season Game #37, Home Game #19
TV: NBA-TV, CSN-NE, FSH, NBAC
Radio: WEEI, KILT
TD Garden Referees: Scott Foster, Tony Brothers, Josh Tiven
The Celtics begin a 6 game home stand with this game vs the Rockets. After a terrible showing vs the Bulls in their last game, the Celtics need to bounce back with more effort in this one. Any aspect of the game you choose, the Celtics have to improve if they want to win this one.
Last season, the Celtics split the series with the Rockets 1‐1. Paul Pierce averaged 26.5 points and shot 62.5% from three‐point territory in the two games. Rajon Rondo averaged a double-double
with 12.5 points and 10.0 assists per game. The Rockets shot 48.6% from three as a team and were led by Luis Scola and his 22.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Scola is the only starter from last season who remains in the starting lineup. Chase Budinger shot 6‐of‐9 from three in the two games while Aaron Brooks averaged 20.0 points, 6.0 assists and shot 57.1% from three in the two games vs the Celtics.
The Celtics are coming off a loss after winning their previous 4 games. The Rockets have lost 5 in a row and will be motivated to avoid their first 6 game losing streak since Nov. 13-23, 2007. The Rockets are 6-14 on the road while the Celtics are 16-2 at home. In their last 10 games, the Celtics are 6-4, while the Rockets are 4-6. Both teams have had to work through injuries this season so far.
The Rockets, of course are missing Yao Ming again this season, but since they haven't had him for 2 seasons, it isn't like they really depended on him. It would give the Celtics a big boost in this one if KG were to return for this game. He didn't participate in the morning shoot around and is listed as questionable for this game. If KG can't go, Big Baby would have to step up and play much better as he will have a tough match up against Luis Scola.

Comments From the Other Side - Bulls 1/8
Sunday, January 9, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 11:41 AM
I usually like to watch games again the next day, but this is one I'd rather never see again. No teamwork for the Celtics. Big Baby leading the team in FGA. No rebounding. And Derrick Rose shooting 19 free throws (to 22 for the whole Celtics team). The Bulls fans sure did love those refs! And I think their hatred for Keith Bogans was way more than their hatred for any Celtic which is pretty bizarre. Here's today's Comments from the Other Side.....
I hate the Celtics. If we still play like we did the last 10 games, we're gonna get blown out.
Keys to the game, don't leave Allen and Pierce open, if you lose due to Rondo and co making outside shots then tip your hat to them, but we cant afford to let those 2 go off
The only advantage to Boston is that this is our 4th game in 5 nights.
This will be Boston's 5th game in 7 nights.
Jesus they gunna have oxygen masks on the bench?
30/13/7 from rose in a win I guarantee a win
We have been playing awful for the past 2 weeks. I expect Boston to fully dismantle us and embarrass us again on national TV.
I hear its bulls snuggie nite... Seriously
Ray Allen is going to abuse Bogans. Book it.
Hoping for a bulls win to erase memories of last two games and for rose to eat rondo's soul
This is less likely to happen than Rondo dropping about 15 dimes and picking Drose's pocket at crucial points of the game.... But I hope you are right
