Comments From the Other Side - Hornets 12/31
Saturday, January 1, 2011
by FLCeltsFan 4:05 PM
Well, another losing edition of Comments from the Other Side. I think most of the Hornets fans realized that the only reason they had a chance was because the Celtics were so short handed. I sure hope the Celtics get back to winning soon. These things are near as much fun when the Celtics lose.
Sure hope KG and Rondo sit this one out. I'm sure Cp3 will dominate Nate "thug" Robinson.
I'm a little sad that Rondo might miss this. I can't prove it, but I really think CP3 doesn't like Rondo one bit. But Nate isn't on much better terms, I imagine. They nearly scrapped once. And while I like CP3...I really think Nate would've messed Paul up.
I'm gonna go ahead and expect a 20-point loss. Just going off the last 2 embarrassments. Id love to be proven wrong though...
Yeah... I'm usually really positive, but we ain't winning this one.

Hornets Pay a Visit to Shorthanded Celtics

New Orleans Hornets (18-14) at Boston Celtics (24-6)
Friday, December 31
3:00 PM ET
Regular Season Game #31 – Road Game #15
TV: CSN-NE, CST, NBA-LP 751
Radio: WEEI, KMEZ
TD Garden Referees: Bill Spooner, Eric Lewis, Haywoode Workman
This is the first meeting between these two teams this season. Doc has said that Rondo might be back for this one but it will probably be a game time decision. I'm being optimistic by putting him in the starting lineup.
Both starting power forwards suffered injuries in their last games. West rolled an ankle and KG injured his calf. West is listed in their starting lineup and may be a game time decision. KG is definitely out for this one and Doc has said that he will probably start Big Baby in his place. The Ticket Stub has done well in the past when starting in place of KG and hopefully he can fill in the void again until KG is ready to return.
Both teams are coming off a loss. The Celtics lost to the Pistons on the road while the Hornets were blown out at home by the Lakers. Both teams last played on Wednesday. Boston is 8-2 in their last 10 games while the Hornets are 4-6 in their last 110 games. The Celtics have done well to protect their home court with a 13-1 record at home while the Hornets have struggled on the road with a 5-10 record.
The Celtics have to deal with yet another injury. It was hoped that Rondo would be ready to play in this one, but it will be a game time decision. Their depth will be tested as they struggle to get players healthy for the stretch run. Read more »

Comments From the Other Side - Pistons 12/29
Thursday, December 30, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 10:32 AM

This was a tough game to watch as a Celtics fan because they weren't playing well even before KG went down. Then I had to worry about KG and what was wrong and reading the Pistons fans comments about karma and gloating about KG being hurt. Not much fun at all. But it seemed as though the Pistons fans were more surprised to win than Celtics fans were to lose. Can't say enjoy cause they aren't exactly enjoyable, so here are today's comments.....
Game starts at 7:30. Look on the bright side. The trade deadline is getting closer. Hopefully we have some new players soon?
KG and CV meet again! I expect a few techs this game.
I forgot about that. I bet the crowd lets him hear it. I can't stand KG.
Don't like being negative but I don't see how we can beat the Celtics, unless they don't show up at all.
Can any of you youngsters tell me how to sign up for Twitter? I'd like to know if KG is mean to CCG again.
Would love to see a weak side facial by Ben on KG---don't care about the foul.
This is going to be ugly! Heaven help us ......... Maybe we can steal one.......
Since it’s going to be competitive, I say Cs by 15. After the game, CV31 tweets about how he almost did something physical to KG, but thought he’d save his energy for hitting the glass.

Celtics Visit Pistons Looking to Make it 2 in a Row

Boston Celtics (24-5) at Detroit Pistons (10-21)
Wednesday, December 29
7:30 PM ET
Regular Season Game #30, Road Game #16
TV: CSNNE, FSD, SNET1, LP 757/758
Radio: WEEI, WWJ
Palace of Auburn Hills Referees: Ken Mauer, Bennie Adams, Kevin Fehr
This is the second meeting between these two teams. The first game ended in Celtics 109-86 victory. KG led 5 Celtics in double figures with 22 points while Stuckey led 5 Pistons in double figures with 17 points. Rondo added 17 assists for the Celtics.
The Celtics are playing in back to back road games while the Pistons were off on Tuesday after a back to back set on Sunday and Monday. The Pistons are 3-7 in their last 10 games while the Celtics are 9-1. The Celtics are 10-4 on the road while the Pistons are 7-8 at home. The Celtics are coming off a win over the Pacers after having their 14 game win streak ended on Christmas day. The Pistons have lost 2 in a row.
The Celtics are still dealing with injuries but are slowly getting back to health. They can't afford to take teams for granted or take games off with the Heat just 2 games behind them in the standings. They have to play as hard against the Pistons as they do against the top teams because in spite of their record, the Pistons can be dangerous if taken lightly. Read more »

Comments From the Other Side - Pacers 12/28
by FLCeltsFan 11:04 AM

Pacer fans were more upset with the number of Celtics fans in the crowd than they were with their team's loss. Most of them were happy that the Pacers stuck with the Celtics for most of the game and were pleased that they didn't get blown out. There were some complaints about the refs and the Celtics fans in the crowd as always. I thought for the most part Pacer fans were a classy bunch. Enjoy today's Comments from the Other Side!
If they come out the way they did against Memphis or when L.A. Came to town, its gonna be a long, difficult, painful game to watch. Lord help the Pacers
Didn't the Celtics just lose? Wonderful..
If we come out and play like slop and lose I'm going to punch out a bandwagoner
This team needs to come out strong. We're capable of winning this game if we come out and play hard all 48 minutes. This would be a big/needed win.
Not exactly the team you want to face after looking like dog crap against Memphis 2 days earlier. Or is it? This Pacers team continues to show they can beat the good teams, then lose to a bad one. We seem to play Boston pretty well. We can't afford to fall too far below .500. Let's do it!
Can't believe Brandon let that Celtic center bull thru him.
The refs didnt call a foul so y is it their ball... Makes no sense
Roy Hibbert officially sucks.
Frick all the Boston fans in the crowd.

Celtics Looking to Start New Win Streak as they Visit Pacers

Boston Celtics (23-5) at Indiana Pacers (13-15)
Tuesday, December 28
7:00 PM ET
Regular Season Game #29, Road Game #15
TV: CSNNE, FSI, NBA-LP 753/754
Radio: WEEI, WFNI
Conseco Field House Referees: Ed Malloy, Nick Buchert, Kane Fitzgerald The Celtics face the Pacers for the second time this month, this time on the road. In the first meeting between the two, the Celtics won 99-88 without either Shaq or Rondo.
The Pacers are 4-6 in their last 10 games and 8-7 at home. The Celtics are 9-1 in their last 10 games and 10-4 on the road. Both teams are coming off a loss. The Celtics have had 2 days off and the Pacers one day off before this contest.
The Celtics want to avoid unpleasant comparisons to last year's after Christmas collapse when they went on a 3 game skid and then went on to lose 13 of their next 22 games. This year's team has had a lot of injury problems, but they also have a healthy Kevin Garnett and a whole different mindset and so we shouldn't expect a similar skid this season.
I expect the Celtics to come out strong in this one to prove to themselves and to their fans that the loss on Christmas was just a bad game and that they are going to continue to play at the high level we have seen from them so far this season. Read more »

Comments From the Other Side - Magic 12/25
Sunday, December 26, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 12:00 PM
Well, as I always say, these are a lot more fun when we win. I couldn't believe that the Magic fans were complaining so much about the refs when clearly they were letting the Magic get away with even more than they let the Celtics get away with. Magic took more free throws and their center didn't foul out. Just saying. One thing I agree with Magic fans about is the photo of David Stern. I still say the Magic fans can't feel too good about beating a Celtics team without their first and second string point guards and without their starting center and one other center in foul trouble, and the third very rusty from not playing all season. Yes, a win is a win, but I like our chances when the Celtics are healthy. I'm surprised that Magic fans didn't realize how short handed the Celtics actually were. Here's today's Comments from the Other Side....
If Orlando beats Boston and they should I got a feelin they win the next 6 after Boston
Someone bring a wheelchair to the game
No Rondo = no distribution, 1-1 offense
No Perkins = Dwight will have a fun day, Shack to slow to keep up
We have to take advantage of them not having Rondo available and we have to push the tempo and run on this team. If we can contain Pierce and Allen, then we will handle these old farts! I'll never forget the disrespect that Paul Pierce displayed to us in last season's ECF and the way their team and their fanbase disrespect us each time we play.
I am hoping for a game where we can continue to see progress and heart. If we can play every game as hard as the Celtics do then we will have a great team.
